Can't throw or push scrying eyes anymore?
BG3 v4.1.1.6072089

I am in the Grymforge area, and I cannot throw the scrying eye off cliffs. Anything that isn't a walkable surface gives either the message "Too high!" or "Target is blocked; Path is interrupted". Also when using shove or thunderwave, even if the trajectory is blue and clearly showing the eye going off the cliff, it still fails and the eye doesn't move.

Am I doing this wrong? The throw method definitely used to work?

Is it a bug in the implementation?

Is it an intentional patch? If so, what options are even left to deal with the eye? Thunderwave did zero thunder damage so I'm out of ideas.

Thanks. That at least gives me motivation to keep trying different variations.

Higher level thunder wave or chromatic orb: thunder works fine for one-tapping those guys

Buggy. I usually kill them with thunder damage now. The duegar telling you to knife it is a bit silly.

I prefer using Thunder Damage on them because Throwing them still counts as them seeing you slaughter people, apparently. Blind them (darkness arrow, darkness, blind spell), then blow them up if I cannot range them easily due to surrounding allies of theirs.

Astarion can shank them from behind and kill em with 1 sneak attack. Just use turn-based mode and shank em.

Yeeaaahh, that's only if his Piercing damage is high enough and you do not get unlucky with damage rolls. Your Sneak Attack would need to be able to do, bare minimum, 38 damage to one shot a Scrying Eye unless you play below Tactician.

On Tactician or Honour Difficulty, they get -8 to all damage which is applied after their resistances. Sharpshooter Astarion is more than likely to blast them since Sharpshooter bypasses the reduction, but since it can miss, I still avoid it. Much easier to just use Hide + Chromatic Orb or Thunder Smite after blinding it.

Since it takes double damage to Thunder, you'd only need to roll a 10 on any Thunder damage attack to blow them up in one hit.

Well you can use lightning arrow if you don't think you can do it.

???

My guy, it's resistant to Lightning damage. Arrow of Lightning won't do any damage to it even if it critical hit, and Lightning Arrow is a Lv9 Ranger Spell.

And clearly I can do it by killing the thing with Thunder damage.

I am talking about on Tactician/Honour difficulty, which you clearly do not play on, or if you do, with some busted gear mods if you think Astarion is one shotting a Scrying Eye with Sneak Attack in melee range.

I think there are a couple of unresisted damage you can use like tenacity weapons (the str bonus can't be halved?) and colossus slayer (ranger) as well? Unfortunately, you have to miss to get tenacity damage, so it can be difficult to exploit on a high str character. If you can get yourself disadvantaged...

Tactician was the first playthrough I did when the game launched, but not since maybe they've changed those orbs.

Anyway, I meant the thunder arrow or whatever the explody thing was. That should work.

There is no Thunder damage arrow. Arrow of Roaring Thunder is a pushback arrow, not an Element arrow.

You can, but that also happened to me... It's just shi**y trajectory plotting by the programmers... Try find another place to grab them and throw them into the chasm...

I've never had any trouble simply using the standard shove action to push them into pits, including on the most recent patch.
