Request for Advice on Using Upscaling Texture Mods

Hello: I want to try the BG3 Upscaling Texture Project and similar texture improvement mods but I have found few reviews of them, and the Upscaling Project Nexus mods site has not comments, buglists or anything of that sort. The Upscale Texture Project seems to be unsupported. Also I could not find instructions to uninstall it anywhere.
Has anyone used texture upscaling mods, and what is your experience? Is there a way to uninstall these mods without breaking saves that used the mods?
