Nah, it would be a disaster packed with virtue signaling from start to finish. Theyd shove modern agendas into every crevice, and Karlach would disgust everyone with her appalling cyberpunk 2077 slang, completely ripping you out of the setting. It wouldnt honor the Forgotten Realms at all. Itd be a parade of cringe-worthy modernity masquerading as fantasy. Disgusting.
There was a time when ideas like these would excite me; now, they just make me anxious.
Okie dokie.
I mean, there's more than just those two options. Like I said if they hired a really good writing team they could make something special. I don't think they'll ever do a bg3 series, and I myself don't have a lot of faith in the shows on streaming services. Most of the time all they care about is profit, and not the integrity or creativity of these shows. That being said, bg3 isn't inherently unadaptable. There's a lot to work with, a lot to expand upon, and a lot to spring board you into other story lines. Or like another poster mentioned, have only a few seasons.
As who? "Papa bear"?
We should have an agenda
lol, lmao
i suggest therapy and distancing yourself from culture war nonsense
Why are the bros always so scared that a digital pixel is going to shove something up their rectum? Or shove it down their throat?
Do bros always use sexual innuendo? Closeted is my guess?
There is a new D&D animated series as well as CR's Vox Machina. The new series seems to be more for a younger audience.
They've tried so many times to make D&D movies, and they've all been awful (I didn't bother to see any of them, but I have yet to talk to anyone who didn't think they were utter rubbish). The D&D cartoon was mildly entertaining, but only VERY loosely based on D&D, and before there was much in the way of lore. Thing about a D&D movie (esp when it was just Greyhawk) is that D&D is just a sandbox for telling whatever fantasy story you want to tell.
I agree, there has never been a good D&D movie or series. It requires great writing. I think Game of Thrones is as close as it gets to a solid D&D series.
Wait, I thought BG3 isn't "woke" any more, after selling so well. Pick a lane, y'all!
It's common for D&D to get a different feel with each edition, but I feel certain trends with 5e 2024 that seem to be less on becoming someone else somewhere else at the core of 2e, 3.5e, and 5e (the more popular editions) and more about affirming very specific things and disregarding other specific things. This is similar to what I interpret Hasbro has been doing with its other brands by observation.
The time is not right for a series set in/near Baldur's Gate. Let things settle.
(Personally, I'm not for the saturation of any specific place in the D&D settings. I'd rather have a story and move to another location with its own story.)
