the new mod manager sucks
Couldn't Larian just use steamworkshop? no filter, no sort, mod pages are limited to only 1 preview pic and only simple mods with PAK file are available. What is this hot garbage?

They've explained why and this question has been answered countless times besides.

It is still a WIP, too.

Currently am unable to uninstall several mods as it says they are being used by another application????

Agreed. Their mod manager in its current form is garbage.

What makes you think Steam Workshop would do better, putting the most obvious you have missed aside?

consoles do not generally have access to the steam workshop
Hobocop Dec 12, 2024 @ 1:10pm
They didn't use Steam Workshop because it would be completely useless for GoG and console customers, which would have been counterproductive towards their larger overall goal of full crossplay between platforms. Simple as.

It's fine mod manager, but i still like more (and use more) BG3MM.
But i think your "hot garbage" is seriously an exageration, the ingame MM is fine.

The fact that it's not on Steamworkshop doesn't bother me, however, I had so much more cool mods before the patch and I don't feel like playing right now because I'm missing half of it, so I can't create a badass OC like before...

You can play with the mods post-patch as well, so not understanding the issue?

I usually just use the Nexus and it's mod manager. Better mods usually too.

We have nexus and many other methods :auyay:

This was done with console players in mind, that is your answer really lol Steamworks shop also not that great in some circumstances nexus is better. Depends on how nodding works for the game.

WRONG. Steamworkshop is literally superior to both nexus and bg3mm. The sheer fact that both nexus and bg3mm literally double the memory usage for every single mods you downloaded makes them infinitely inferior to steamworkshop in everyway possible. That's not even to mention all the ads and the gimped download speed on nexus. Heck you can't even go to the mod catalog from main mod page on Nexus for some idiotic reason. Steamworkshop is already the best there is yet instead of using it Larian somehow decided to create the worst version of Nexus. Wtf.

A lot of nod authors won't even use steam workshop, it's very limiting sometimes. While nexus may lower speed for non purchasers I have never needed more then the free download speeds ever lol

Maybe if you are downloading a ton, or a whole list of 100s so you don't have to do it 1 by 1 through a collection. But steam workshop is still very limiting.

Steam has made it better allowing for listing dependency mods, steam workshop is more simple to use most of the time. But a game with a good community made mod manager is often superior like those that use fluffyMM for example, or icarus and it's MM, or satisfactory independent MM heaps better then either steam or nexus lol

But if I'm picking? For most games not all it would be a Built in>community made MM>Nexus>Steam

With Some exceptions, for BG3 I still prefer nexus has better variety still for now, however built in? Factorio is king haha :kingme:

I am glad I don’t use mods.

what load of bs. How tf is anything you said excuse the sorry state of bg3 built in mod manager? all Larian achieve with patch 7 is adding another layer of annoyance when you install mods from nexus and other source while achieve nothing else.
