Game crashes when I level up or change the class of anyone who has had their class changed
Hey all. In the middle of Act 2 I changed Astarion's class to Bard and Halsin to Barbarian/Druid. Afterward, it let me level them like normal. Now, however, I'm trying to go to level 9 and the game crashes anytime I try to level up or change the class of either character, but only them.

The only mods I'm running are Artificer and 5e Spells, neither of which can be missing when loading the game. Also ImprovedUI, Modfixer, and the script extender.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Mods usually break every time a game is patched/hotfixed.

Make sure to update *all* the mods you're using to versions that work with the most recent patch, before attempting to load any modded savegame.

If no such new version of the mod exists then wait patiently for the mod author to make it, or start over in a new save without using that mod.

Mods can, and will, kill your game progression. Asking for help while running so many is just a waste of time.

I'm literally only running a few mods, what do you have "while running so many?"

I've updated them to no avail. Based on what I've researched I'm not sure it's the mods causing the problem, though it likely is.

You can continue to insist that mods can break the game but not yours for sure. It's ok. You can live with it. Just don't level up and respec.

I'm not here to tell you not to run mods. But if you do, you have to accept that they can break your saves.

If this is a game like BG1/2 that has been stable for many years, that's fine. But a game that has only been released for a few months and keeps rolling out patches? Play mods at your own risk.

You using such intrusive mods... you are on your own to consult the mods authors for mods related issues.

Yikes, y'all. I was simply asking if anyone had experienced similar issues. I will avoid posting here in the future.

Just because you don't like the answer you got, doesn't make it wrong.

Who said that? As if they are working for BG3's team lmao. Mods are indeed dangerous but doesn't have anything related to the original bug the author is talking about.

People are indeed experiencing bugs on their level-up even if they don't use mods.

So, let's talk about the good answer: Mods are dangerous, but I don't particularly experience troubles with my games about leveling up my character. Is it that hard to answer and to give some warning at the same time ?
