Shadowheart romance
How can you romance her? Normally, I find romances in computer games boring, but she's quite likeable, especially because of her story and the likeable voice actress.

My relationship with Shadowheart is exceptional...but I am already in act 3 and haven't had the chance to romance her at all. I gave her her fav flower...but that's it. She once told me I am important to her...but nothing else. Do you have to romance her in act 1 by doing whatever because the game does not let her do it later on?

Gale tried to seduce me twice...Astarion once told me he misses sex...and I turned to other matters. Shadowheart is reserved and shy and that's it.

Lae'zel hasn't been in my party and so he Harlach or Wyll...I stick with the first ones I met.

Act 3 is waaaay too late to romance any of the origins :(

To romance her, you need to talk to her in Act 1 (maybe Act 2 as well?) about spending more time together. Then you get a long rest event. Also I think you can't see her initial romance scene if you start a Lazel or Karlach romance. But I was able to romance Astarion in Act 1 and Shadowheart soon after.

I didn't get the chance and no, I did not spend the night with other characters in the game...Shadowheart is the only female and I said no to Gale and Astarion.

So you didn't see her first romance scene in Act 1 ?

If you didn’t make out with her at the camp party in act 1 then you are out of luck

How is she likeable? We already have a thread that said every single compaion is unlikeable so therefore your point is invalid.

For the thread.

As far as I remember I didn't talk to her during the "party" because no "!" was floating above her head...the whole party was disappointing as nothing festive or cool was going on. It was just a bunch of tieflings standing around. I just talked to Halsin and the other guests, then ended the day.

It wouldn't matter much to me if all romance scenes were lost, but it wouldn't make sense...I mean...how should I know I can only trigger a certain scene by doing exactly X at time Y?

I talk to her a lot, didn't do anything that upset her...we've spent about 140 hours together...there should be "Let's talk about us" -> "I want to tell you something" ALL the time. And not a "Oh, the only way to get closer to me is to talk to me during the party".

Maybe I even talked to her and said cheers...I don't remember...maybe it was Halsin or one of the tieflings I drank with...the game shouldn't be so strict.

It's not during the party. You can trigger the first semi-intimate scene with her (it's just a first date) way before the Party or before finishing the Grove quest.

However i don't know if triggering that scene that early is really a necessary requisite to fully romance her.
But either way, Shart's romance is probably the one that takes the longest (well at least to actually get to the act, since you can start developing a proper relationship much early). She's just not the one night stand, or first date sex kind of girl it seems

Think you're well past blown it. I've had the wine scene, and I'm still in act 1.

My guess is, you missed some kind of camp event or some such. I had to rest twice in a row before moonrise in my game where I am trying to romance Gale. Had I not known there was supposed to be a scene there, I would have missed it. I also have another playthrough where I've been unable to romance anyone in spite of trying, which is pretty funny since often the opposite is the case xD

All other chars tried to seduce me or made the first move. Gale wanted to date me and said so...later he told me he was in love with me...so it is strange that Shadowheart does not talk about her feelings or does not offer me such a line of dialog.

When gifting her her favorite flower, she said she will give me something later on. Still waiting... :D

Shadowheart, you have to directly go to her and tell her you want to spend more time together. She won't come to you like the other companions

All the boys fawn over you. Shadowheart keeps her feelings close to her (also she’s got no freaking idea what’s going on), and Lae’zel over here just like “you wanna bang or not?”

Not so strange if you know her background. She is intensely private to the point of being secretive -- and that fits entirely with being raised in a Sharan temple.

Anyway, I am pretty sure that you must have the date night thing with her in order to progress her romance, and I think it has to happen in Act 1. It usually happens at the party.

She asks to share a bottle of wine, and you spend the night talking to each other, and, if you pass a perception check, you can kiss her in the morning.

Then you need to keep being nice to her. Ask her to talk about herself, etc. Your goal is to get her to tell you that she likes night orchids and never learned to swim.

Ideally you give her the flower. Not necessary, though. You can also give her an idol of Shar found in the Gyrmforge. Again, not necessary.

If you are still on track by Act 3, you should be able to ask her for a kiss and have her accept.

Then, not right away, you get the skinny-dipping scene where you teach her to swim (and enjoy some other activities too).

After that she should start talking about how she wants to live with you in a house with lots of animals -- stuff like that.

I'm not certain, but I think the romance gets derailed if she does not turn to Selune.

And of course, never select the "I'm breaking off our romance" dialog options.
Mike Garrison Nov 20, 2023 @ 6:52am
Each of the romance options has a commitment point that generally will preclude continuing any of the others.

For instance, you can have sex with Lae'zel early in Act 1 if she likes you enough, but that is not her commitment point. You can still romance other characters (like Shadowheart) after that. Lae'zel may even offer to have sex with you a second time, and still that's not a commitment. But when she wakes you up in the night to fight her, that's the commitment point. If you agree to that fight, your Shadowheart romance is instantly locked out. If you refuse the fight, your Lae'zel romance is instantly locked out.
