Does anyone else hate giving up good-looking armor for a superior but uglier set?
I just love the Scale Male of Devotion my paladin started out in. It's shockingly stylish for starting armor, on top of just really fitting the character. But I can now afford to switch to chain mail. And since I have Dexterity 10, and don't use a shield, I need that AC boost. It's just... the visual downgrade stings, ya know? :)

Yes, i do feel like transmog should be basically mandatory for games where you swap out armour due to stats, because you rarely look good in these games.

I totally read that as Scale of Male Devotion (Mail being implied), and found zero things wrong with it in a BG3 context.

Yea there are some really good armor pieces that just have terrible design.

Like Viconias armor gives advantage to stealth checks and is great for assassin builds, however it’s designed as a female prom queen dress even has the boobs chest outlined so it looks ridiculous on a male character unless you like to play as an assassin drag queen.

Same goes to the one that you get from the mermaids after Iron throne.

Luckily the game is easy enough that you can wear almost any armor and still have no issues lol

You know what, I'm just going to leave that typo up. Because why not?

A cosmetic equipment layer should totally be added by Larian.
You can switch to always have your camp clothes visible, its what i do.
But camp clothing is limited in choices, and well, it can feel inappropriate to wear for battle, unless you're Karlach

Yes. Can't kill things if i don't look fabulous while doing so.

Yeah, this is one of my gripes with the game.

Larian, please give us the ability to transmogrify a gear's look onto different pieces.

Can't be hard to program a secondary equipment screen with transmog options unlocked when attaining a certain piece of equipment, right? I mean, of course it's some work, but it should definitely be doable.

The transmog MOD is really good btw.
Sadly i don't have the strength to do a full modded playthrough until the updates slow down a bit

Larian has regrettably never had a transmog system in their games that I know of.

I would think it should be relatively easy because we have the camp clothes but that would mean another layer built into the game like the camp clothes were no probably not so easy.

I would assume It would not be as easy as everyone seems to think it would be...

It is actually simple to implement a solution to simply transform the asset of a specific armor into another one. This is already done with the textures when you use a Dye.
A full extra layer, may require a little more work, even though still doable.

It's already been implemented by a MOD, im sure if Larian is even considering it, they probably haven't done it yet because they want to do a better more advanced system for it.
Divinity didn't have it, true, but I wanna believe they may at least be considering it for BG3 during their coffee breaks or something

There is a transmog mod.
