Finishing this game under 100hrs merant you were kinda running through it.
i completed the game sub 100 hours while exploring every single explorable area and i was refusing to progress before i had seen everything. except act 3, it was a burden to explore fully
My first playthrough was 160hrs and 100 of them spent on act 1.
The average playtime is average. Anything beyond 200 hours is far beyond average for any RPG.
Dude, theres a website to see the average, I spoke of my experience, stop discarding how I played the game.
If OP wanted a by the numbers average he would have fon on howlongtobeat.com.
Which by the way lists a main story playthorough at 88hrs average and a co,mpletionist one at 226hrs on leisure, which is what I did.

This is never going to hit the kind of hours I have on Civ or Factorio or KSP, but those are different kinds of games.
Anyway, YMMV, but I don't ultimately judge the value I get from a game by how many hours I play it. Not all hours spent with a game are equally valuable or equally entertaining.
and based on all the answers here in this post and after some youtube research, it looks like it is indeed a rather short game (for an rpg) , more suited for casual afternoon players.
so its a no for me at this point.
maybe in a sale in some years for 10 bucks or so.
whish ya all a good day.
nope rpgs are well known to be very lengthy anything under 200hrs is indeed a filthy casual imo ..and yes bg3 is a very casual rpg
No matter how true that is, it does not matter either to the people who only look on playtime hours. For that reason gems like Stanley Parable or even Portal 2 get downlooked upon. And countless of adventure games.
There are people who enjoy a movie multiple times and go to the cinema multiple times. And then there are people who are satisfied with just once.
