If its runepowder, you only need to worry about force damage resistance, which seems very rare
I believe they are all force damage when you blow them up, but create a fire surface which will not damage them.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ how have I never thought of that before. That'll be the perfect ending for a theater kid like him
See OP?! You are having fun the wrong way in your single player game. Boo!
This fight was a nightmare for me the first time I played it. Only won by total cheese. I did get rid of the pillars and the cambions, but I was down two party members by that time. And then the AI got stupid. Raph would just down Lae'zel, Hope help her back to her feet, and my other surviving character shoot him with an arrow from range. (Also the orthon guy would invisibly try to stab Raph.) Turn after turn after turn. Until Raph finally died.
Second time I tried it I knew what to do, and I pretty much wiped the whole room easily (balanced difficulty). Everybody had prepared with elixir of fire resistance. AOE ice spells worked great. Kept Raph locked up in melee rather than letting him toss hard-hitting spells. Didn't take too long, this time without any cheese.
(I get it that "barrel make big boom" can be funny.)
I'm excited to let my hordes of undead just swarm Raphael while I spam magic missile on the pillars. Though I'm hoping I can finally keep Hope alive
Easiest way I have managed to keep Hope alive is cast Sanctuary on her as soon as I could and then just have her spam healing spells and buffs. Also keep her far enough away from the rest of your party so she doesn't get caught up in any AoE.
No Runepowder?
My first time there, Hope just got targeted. Then I reloaded, and found out about the radiant retort the hard way. Then I reloaded again, and figured hey! She should do the final blow on him for keeping her captured. Then she knocked him down to exactly one HP. And he AOEd all over the place, instakilling her. I just gave up then
I'm gonna try that and keep her safe
