One would think there would be items supporting every type of build scattered in every act so you could slowly build it up as the story progresses.
~sighs~ Guess I will create a lightning or fire focused Evocation mage, there is plenty of support for those (Especially lightning) in the earlier acts.
I think I had 2 necromancer staves in Act 3 and there's at least 1 more you can get.
You just have to get a little creative. Have the strongest member of your party lug around corpses for you for when they're a little sparse.
Gaining momentum in a fight thanks to zombies is what you should be aiming for before you get the broken gear of Act III. Act I is a bit threadbare though. Cantrips are your friend, but you'll be taking a back seat until later Act II.
Best helmet for necromancers is in Act II (Circle of Bones).
Circle of Bones makes them excellent meat shields, but you shouldn't rush to get that circlet for plot or completionist reasons.
As for the rest, you're still a wizard. You always have options. Just because you're a necromancer does not restrict you to Necrotic damage.
If anyone is trying to be a Necromancy Sorcerer...that's your own fault.
