I might have just f***** up
I didn't want to waste my magical items by letting gale eat them and now I I'm at the end of Act 2 and after the Cinematic when heading to Baldur's Gate I get a letter saying that my unwillingness to help Gale made him leave. I don't have him in my team I don't really like them but I'm trying to play the game to completion as much as possible so having him leave my Camp would be kind of annoying is there anything I can do to rush through his story because right now I'm getting a notification when trying to leave for Baldur's Gate saying that one of my companion has unfinished business here I assume they're talking about him I'm assuming that by sleeping and waking up and sleeping again I couldn't make him want more magic items but it's what follows that I'm concerned about because I tried looking up how to continue his story it said that after giving him three items I would need to track down his mentor that is next to the temple in which there is the crech or whatever it is called and I can't go back there anymore so is there something I can do or something that has been changed or am I just f*****? And please don't tell me to load a save I know that I can do that but it would also mean redoing a million things afterwards.

Magic items are so abundant. There's no real reason to not feed Gale. But yes, you actually would need to load a previous save. It IS a good lesson in saving more frequently.

I save extremely frequently the issue is that there's a limited amount of quicksaves

that' because this game is a trash from the start , that's said: we, all, playerrs aren't the Main character to the story from the start and never will. so everything that we have is to do the already made choice road that devs decided for us. XD
it's actually neither a baldur's gate game from the start too. XD

There's unlimited manual saves.

By the way do I need to load back to before I enter the area with moonrise Tower or can I just load right before I entered the shadowfell?

Just load the auto save from the last long rest where Gale doesn't leave. Feed him.

Chalk this up to "your choices have consequences" and keep on playing without Gale.

There is tons of stuff like this in BG3, where your actions, or lack of action, has a big, meaningful impact on the storyline and blocks off quests/dialogues/gameplay or opens up new quests/dialogues/gameplay.

You shouldn't expect to see all content in a single playthrough, or to have things always go the way you want.

I have no idea how badly you goofed because that is a wall of text, but there's no reason not to feed Gale. Sure, it's annoying and poorly scripted that his rep bar flies up so easily and he eats three items in quick succession, but after that he doesn't need any. For whatever immersion breaking reason until you run into the ol Elm

As per usual, BG3 coulda been a 10 but insists on never rising above 7.5

After talking to Gale's mentor is there anything else to do before act 3?

I didn't even need to click on your post history to know it would be full of ranting about LGBT .

magic items sell for next to nothing, and there is plenty of them you never end use at all. The 3 you need to give him as part of his story, is very minor.

This. I cannot stress this enough. It is impossible to see everything in a single playthrough, so trying to be a completionist is a doomed prospect.

Your companion had a very time-sensitive, volatile request. You refused it. He left. It is what it is.

Spoiler alert: Gale only requires 3 items. That's it. I get them pretty early in game just by normal exploring and looting everything, and that's without having to buy any. The ones I give him are ones I won't use anyway.

Delete your old quicksaves. It's a total of 50, so as you go get in a habit of deleting 20 or so quicksaves as you go so it doesn't get annoying, and you have 50 Qs's at your disposal. Hope this helps.
