To showcase that they've confirmed it's going be in the full game
Besides, the draconic bloodline gives passives buffs at lvl 1 on the character selection albeit useful or not
"Parts of your skin are covered by a thin sheen of dragon-like scales. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC equals 13 + your Dexterity modifier." So you can be a little more beefy depending in how you build your sorcerer and you don't have to waste a spell slot casting Mage Armor.
I think Draconic bloodlines are crap - but a lot of people love them for their flavor.
Combine this with the new craftable Legendary Quarterstaff, and your sorcerer now a master of Cold Damage.
On the Staff: Apply Chilled when dealing frost damage. The target takes +1 damage from all Cold damage sources.
Armor of Agathys, Ray of Frost, twinned Chromatic Orb, all get +1 damage. It's a target debuff, so they take that +1 from all sources, not just the original caster. It's really amazing.
Yes. You're missing the entire point of early access. They're adding finished content that would be available in Act 1...to Act 1.
And don't get me wrong, I think wild magic is also pretty fun but that's because it's totally unpredictable and I think it's kind of amusing when it burns the group to death or spawns multiple mud mephits etc. in the middle of already difficult battles.
Draconic Bloodline is solidly a middle-of-the-pack subclass, right next to Shadow Sorcerer (Shadow Sorlock shenanigans not included of course).
If you ask me, they should just add in Aberrant Mind and be done with it. It'll invalidate every other Sorcerer subclass, sure, but it's thematically appropriate and fun to use, so who cares.
