I'm not a fan of AI art but it's just not gonna happen.
also I just looked at the art for the first time in a while.
Somehow I'm not shocked it's mainly big titty goth girlfriend shadowheart art
I'm not judging here, i'm not an artist myself and rarely look at BG art. But i dislike the idea of banniing anything based on one's personal taste.
That's not art, though. It's trash vomited out from keywords.
You know when you visit your 4 year old nephew and he brings you a piece of paper with some kind of purple squiggle made with crayon, yellow sun in the corner and some kind of orange blobs because orange is his favorite color this week? He's more of an artist than people who post AI images like they did something worth looking at.
The problem with AI has never been personnal taste, but that it litteraly steals from actual artist to produce something lazy, that can easily be spammed, and can take the spotlight of actual artists who spend several hours creating their pieces
Yup.
At least so far, AI images are pretty easy to spot. The issue is, it's now everywhere. All the floor plan sites I used to visit to make houses in sims are AI now, spewing out floor plans with stairs to nowhere and stoves next to the bed. The cross stitch sites are trying to sell people kits that are obviously fake. Even the groups I used to love where people would share beautiful photos of nature near their homes have all turned into AI slop of misshapen cabins nestled along side fuzzy, dreamlike streams that bend the laws of physics.
One beautiful irony is the AI garbage is being fed back into itself, causing it to create more and more inbred images as 'artists' aren't able to purge the trash it itself creates from its own data banks.
People use to spend hours making machine parts in a factory by hand. Now we have machines making those machines as the most common form of production, but markets remain for hand-made quality things as luxury goods.
This is the inevitability of technological progress. Artists can either learn to accept the changing landscape and carve out their own place in the markets, or they can learn to do something else. But banging sticks and yelling like cavemen isn't going to stop it. Because A.I. is only going to get better as digital arms race continues.
Even more funny, all the artists claiming their art is being stolen without realising they freely gave it away by using social media and other data aggregators. Shoulda read the fine print.
