Are wizards able to learn cleric/druid spells in 5E? If so, what's the incentive to play a cleric?

Disclaimer - I've never played tabletop D&D, my only exposure to D&D is through BG1/2, NWN 1/2 and such

So I just learned that apparently wizards can learn cleric spells such as cure light wounds in BG3. Is this a 5E thing? If so, is there much incentive to play a cleric instead of a wizard? I guess they can use turn undead and start with more equipment options, but seems like a costly trade-off when compared to being able to cast most (I assume for example Eldritch Blast is not available in scroll form) spells available in the game and being able to refresh some of the spells without the need for a rest.

They can't learn them in 5e. Ive given alot of thought to why they would do this in BG3 and can't come up with a reason. At first i thought it was to keep you from being locked into a traditional healer, but if you're gimping your wizard by sacrificing spell slots to heals solely to avoid having a cleric in the party, whats the point?

No, in D&D 5e Wizards should only be able to learn spells on the Wizard's spell list. Some scrolls, like a "Scroll of Protection," can be cast by anyone but they cannot be scribed into a Wizard's spellbook.

Pretty sure that a bug more than anything.
Right now Wizard can learn any spell on a scroll in this game.

Got it, might be a glitch/oversight then that you can learn those spells in BG3, hopefully it will be fixed in a patch at some point.

Even though it says it can be learnt by a wizard, when I gave it a try it said "This spell is a cleric only spell" and stopped me.

No it's a bug.

right now? none, I think. A wizard can learn guiding bolt and cure wounds and have chad spells slots, but I think this is more a "bug" than a feature, it's still early acess so give it time.
