I don't even think I bought a single item my first playthrough 40+ hours. Didn't really see much useful in shops. What do you need infinite gold for man lol wtf.

You can use Cheat Engine to give yourself any amount of gold. Same for potions or res scrolls.

Pickpocketing NPCs for gold is a pretty easy way to make lots of money so far with a Rogue with Sleight of Hand proficiency.

You can change the blacksmith inventory with every rest you take so you can buy all the specific +1 weapon you could want that arent dropped currently for example.

Also the current best heavy armor in the EA chainmail with 16ac is sold in the goblin camp.

The Invisibility spell doesn't let you pick up items off the ground without breaking it, and if you fail a pickpocket roll it's over, but it lets you stealth in plain sight and pickpocket any merchant and grab stuff out of containers. Ideally, you'd cast Guidance on your highest Dex character, then Invisibility, then save - pickpocket - reload as needed. If you park the rest of your party a ways away and don't fail the roll, the NPC complains about being pickpocketed but can't find your invisible character.

Also fun to wander through dungeons grabbing healing potions, scrolls, and the explosives that everyone complains about goblins having in large numbers prior to fighting them.

You also can't bonus action dash without breaking it.

As with any game that isn't saved online, you can easily modify anything using cheatengine. There isn't much to use gold on tho, mostly few +1 gear.

just get the shadow of menzoberranzan from the underdark and be a rogure 16 dex and rob the hell out of the trader in the druid grove i did this for about an hour saving after each time and then selling the stuff back to him i went from 3800 gold to 5900 gold and 1 res scroll to 13 and 8 potions to 40 ...had to reload maybe 3 times my best roll i had was 28 lol here is a rep of one of my rolls .....skill check 16(1D20) - 5+2 (preficiency) +3 (dexterity modifier) +5 ((sleight of hand modifiers)) =21

Steal using a Thief subclass of Rogue, dump it in camp, have a character that is high charisma resell for higher prices.

You are changing the display value on your ui.
In order for changes to stay you need to change the value that the game references for the item, not the displayed value...
A way to test this is selling a item back and forth and finding the value that changes your gold and the seller's gold.

Once you find the gold value for your total gold you change that.

Or do something smarter, use the split stack on a gold and then increase the value to dupe it.

Game mechanic takes the original value then split it in a ui to limit how much you can split, but if you push the value beyond normal, it can force it to spawn more gold upon splitting gold.

download wemod cheat engine and enable items don't decrease then keep splitting your gold and transfer all piles to one character

Yes, yes I do. Go to Nexus mods. Search "cheats". Several can add gold. But that would be cheating.

BTW, my fee for this is 500 gold. (I kid. I kid. Or do I?)
