Baldur's Gate 3

Statistiche:
How does attacking a sleeping person work? How does attack from hidden work?
If I attack someone who's sleeping, does it guarantee a critical hit? It seems to look like that way... Does it also guarantee the highest dice roll?

What about attacking someone from behind while staying hidden?

If I remember it correctly, in older DnD, unless the person was under sleep magic, it was basically guaranteed kill (save throw).

Here, there is a lot of weird things. Like backstabing petrified drows.
Yes - attacks on sleeping people have advantage, and are always critical hits.

Not always, as the one sleeping could wear Adamantine Gear in which case, he is immune to critical hits mind you.
In 5e... a sleeping creature is unconscious meaning - unconscious and incapacitated (cannot take actions, auto fails str and dex saves, attack rolls against it have advantage, and attacks from within 5' are automatic critical hits, drops any items it is holding). https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Conditions#content

Pretty sure BG3 implements advantage and the critical hit.

When you critical hit a sleeping person, is the damage maximized? Or is there still a dice roll?

For example, if my attack is 1d6 + 3 and I attack a sleeping person, it crits so it becomes 2d6 + 3. Will the damage be 15, the max dice roll, or will there be an actual dice roll?
Critical hits just mean you roll twice the damage dice, there's no guarantee of maximum damage.

Sorry to say, but (for example ) that adamantine Chainmail he wears, even if sleeping, applies immunity for Critical Hits, yes all the other bonuses do apply, but no Auto Crit for you.
You only inflict a Critical Hit (and have Advantage) with a Melee attack. You have Disadvantage with a Ranged attack (including spells).

This is correct, only thing is, Spells that do require touch, which means you need to be in Melee range would also have these advantages.
