speculation: dragonborn breath weapons and surfaces
in 5e your dragonborns chosen draconic ancestry makes quite a big difference to how they can perform in combat and it seems BG3 will be adding a whole new dimension to the choice

i dont think its outside of the realms of possibility that dragonborn breath weapons will leave surfaces and/or apply status effects based on the element you choose

as i understand it, the draconic ancestry choices that give fire damage to your breath weapon and fire damage resistance are very popular in tabletop play. do you think the addition of surfaces/debuffs will change that given how annoying fire surfaces can be?

IMO black and copper dragon ancestries would be very attractive if they could give the -2 AC debuff from acid surfaces even if a target passes their DEX save (as the acid splash cantrip currently does)

what do you think?
who else is excited for dragonborn paladins?

I would also be subspecies for Dragonborn like Draconblood and Ravenite as Super Surcerer and Barbarian.

I just wonder if you are restricted as a paladin, I mean you have your oath and if you decide differently than you are intended, you are an oath breaker.

How should the Drogoborne look like:
The number of Official Concept pictures is lean.

They do not have natural armor like the Dragonborn Surcerer, Turtel and Lizards.
= They don't have scaled armor, just their resistance?

They can't bite like gnolls or lizards.
= Her snout is not exactly threatening.

They cannot horn attack opponents like minutaurs.
= Do you have any official listeners at all? I only see tentacles in the official picture.

Only the Draconblood and Ravenite have night vision.
= Do normal eyes even have human eyes?

They shouldn't have a tail except for the Dracoblood.

The good idolize Bahamuth.
The wicked Tiamat.
The neutrals Io.

The implementation and since it doesn't mean a lot of work to bring human races into play makes me believe that Dragonborne will be very unspectacular.

That is essentially how the Lizards in DOS2 work, so I would not be surprised. Fire breath and fire resist.

But you shouldn't forget that depending on the element / color, you roll the dice on DEX or CON and it is either a beam, a ball or a 45 ° area.
