Patch taking forever :(

I get a day off, and planned to marathon BG3 all night, and (of course) this is the day a big patch comes out. It's only a 500MB patch, yet it is taking forever to download.
Anyone else having this problem?

Yes.. usually steam takes a long time to download updates for games but for whatever reason the updates for this game take wayyyy longer to download.

I have been waiting over an hour for it to download. I have gig download speeds. Now it is stuck "updating."

I'm also having exactly this problem. I bought new RAM and it was delivered today. I installed it right after work and have since been trying to download this update. I see 1.8 gb instead of 500MB, but I got to 1.7gb and since then the download has just been trolling me for about 2 hours.

I think there's still some issue with the patch. It was stuck for me, when I redownloaded it, it downloaded 56gb?!

After the download completes, there is a long wait as the patch installs. Perhaps it is decompressing? Not sure the reason, but I just left it running and it eventually finished.

It's literally re-downloading the whole game for me for the new update
