There are lots of great combos to use with HoH. My absolute favorite game-breaking combo is to use the illithid black hole power to pull the enemies into the middle of the HoH. Even if they manage to struggle out of it, you can just reapply the black hole turn after turn to pull them back in. This is a guaranteed total kill in fights like the House of Grief.
Literally nothing getting through.
