how the hell do you REMOVE mod.io mods?
I swear, this ♥♥♥♥ is like a virus, I've unsubscribed and uninstalled the Better hotbar mod FIVE times, and every time I start the game up again IT RE-DOWNLOADS.

This is making me MAD, what the ♥♥♥♥

You'd have to go into your appdata mod folder and remove the .pak file. Also, maybe download the fan made mod manager. It help with organizing and deleting mods much better than the in-dame one does.

Ensure that
- restart your PC
- you deactivate Steam Cloud services for the game
- unsubscribe the mods via browser (not in-game browser) mod.io website while logged in

I have the mod manager, but the issue is when I get back into the game, the game's mod manager re-downloads the mods I want removed.

I already did all of this (except the Steam Cloud services, because Mod Io's not related to steam and this would only rid me of my saves), they keep re-downloading as if nothing happened.

You also have to delete the save file that did use the mod!

I already did but the mod keeps downloading anyways!

i know it's stupid but you have to go to mod.io and unsubscribe the mods from there to have them stop re-downloading

I already did, they still re-download though, It's driving me crazy because I don't know where else to remove them from

yes it happened to me too, the trick is to unsubscribe to all the mods from mod.io while the mod manager is open and then uninstall the mods in the mod manager
Zeke V.Kara Sep 22, 2024 @ 12:48pm
it's stupid design because mod.io detect that i have the mods installed but not subbed to it so it sub to all the mods installed, so you need to unsub to all mods from mod.io and delete them from the mod manager without closing the game, hope that helps

it didn't work unfortunately, I'm just going to give up and uninstall the game

I'm having this same problem. I tried going to the mod.io website to check if I'm subscribed to anything there and I'm not. I've uninstalled everything from inside the mod manager, deleted my modsettings.lsx file, deleted the playthroughs, yada yada and it STILL automatically starts reinstalling everything. I have cloud save turned off, too. I legitimately don't know where it's even getting the information for the mods because I've cleared. EVERYTHING.
edit: I'm just uninstalling and reinstalling and hoping that'll fix it. If those f**&king mods start reinstalling when I boot up the game again I think I might rage quit BG3 for the unforeseeable future.

Just do it. Keep that mood to yourself. Everyone else who removed their stuff properly, including the savegames dependant on the mods do not have any issues anymore. The steps are foolproof and easy to follow.

And every mod user who knows how to use mod do not have that problem. Ever.

MOD.IO has pretty much all mod in the workshop. WAY easier to uninstall if you get them that way. Just for future reference

I disagree. A manual handling is quickest. Just as quick as pressing the DEL key.
