Help, please! Romance question re: Karlach, Gale, Shadowheart. Did I screw up somehow?

So I've done pretty much every quest in the Act 1 wilderness, and most of the Underdark except the Grymforge. I've had Shadowheart, Karlach, and Gale (occasionally substituting Asterion for Gale when needed) in my party for most of the game. I have had the "wine by the waterfall" romance scene with Shadowheart, but no other romance with Shadowheart or anyone else since that scene. I held off on the Tiefling Party part of the game until now to make sure my approval with those three characters is high. Now I've reached the party and my approval is ridiculously high ("exceptional" as the game describes it) with SH, Kar, and Gale -- my approval with Gale is 100, with Karlach it's 97, and with Shadowheart it's 94...and yet all three of them still shot down my character at the party. So, I have a few questions:

1) Did I screw the pooch somehow or somewhere? Is this the result of a bad dialogue choice or some other screw up? This is my first playthrough, so I don't really know if I'm bombing it here.

2) If my character gets denied at the party, am I locked out of any progress in the romance department with these three characters for the rest of the game? Or do I still have a shot later in the game? I mean, is the tiefling party a point-of-no-return sort of thing when it comes to romancing these three?

I'm pretty new to this game, so I'm sorry if these are rookie questions. I tried finding answers on the Steam threads and on online guides/walk-through, but haven't really been able to figure it out. Any tips, hints, pointers, or explanations would be appreciated at this point. Thanks.

Well, you've locked in Shadowheart already with the wine by the waterfall scene, so as long as you didn't tell her it meant nothing afterwards and "broke up" with her, you're good for endgame romancing. She just doesn't spend the night with you at the party cause you've already done her's.

Did you do the weave scene with Gale or turn down the weave scene? If you do the weave scene, he'll use his condition as an excuse to not spend time with you at the party. If you turned it down, I think that was the equivalent of breaking off his romance. Not sure what variables were "fixed" after Patch 7.

Karlach though... not sure. Reloaded character 14 to test him out cause he did Shadowheart prior and nope Karlach is down. Laezel, too. I get the option to just dream about Shadowheart for the night, so yeah all three girls want him. Did you at least fix her heart once? Maybe that makes a difference. -shrug-

There's a camp conversation with Karlach before the party. If you don't get it, the romance track is locked out .

I think you can miss this if you don't long rest enough.

Wyll will pretty much overwrite any Karlach romance scenes with his own. If you want to romance Karlach you cant have Wyll in your camp or party. Wyll may do this to other characters too.

Huh? I've never even seen a Wyll romance scene. You have to work to get them, and it doesn't sound like the OP was.

You are still in Act 1. The romance stories generally advance with the acts. Just keep playing the game.

You are definitely still on track with Shadowheart. I'm not sure about the others.

Huh? I've never even seen a Wyll romance scene. You have to work to get them, and it doesn't sound like the OP was.

The one with the dance is quite easy to get. Though I have never experienced it "overwriting Karlach's" route.

Threadstarter still has some leeway before the point of no return in Act 2.

sorry i should of added this is to get the Karlach achievement in Act 1 after saving the groove

I don't wanna spoil anything but the party after saving the groove gives you some opportunity's. If it doesn't happen in Act 1 don't worry, you can get her in the next Act tiger.

I don't think that's true. If a flag hasn't been set before the Act 1 party, you're done.

Having said that, I'm not sure he's actually having a problem with Karlach. The only way I'm aware of to test if the relationship is on is at the party. Maybe he should just make a hard save, play it out, and see what happens.

Something to add to this: the Weave scene gives the PC a bunch of options to imagine stuff. Two of them are flirtatious. My understanding is that the player must select one of those two to progress the romance. Otherwise, you're friendzoned.
