Yurgir
I am having a really hard time in the Turgir fight. I get so far then eat 20 bombs in a turn, anything i can do to stop this? it's is getting rather frustrating

If you don't find safescumming beneath you, reload a save before the fight and just... talk to the man. You will find that he's very open to suggestions.

Pick up the bombs. They become your free bombs.

You can pick up any bombs that land near you; it doesn't use an action. As Mike Garrison pointed out, they then become your bombs. You can afterwords thank Yurgir for supplying you with plentiful munitions.

If you don't detect the ambush so you can surprise them and OTK, stay near the stairs and send Shovel or wevhater you conjured to draw them out. They'll bunch up near the door.

multiple ways to handle yurgir.

1, talk to him.. make a deal he will become a powerful assest later on.

2 kill all the rats and end the last justiciar...this will automatically remove him as an enemy and he will want to speak with you

3. go in behind the room so his back is to you. bring fairy fire or water bottles or something to break his invis. keep track of the bombs, you can throw them and even have a mage hand throw them at the reptile dudes orrrr you can detonate them with a well placed fireball

Yurgir is a BEAST I always keep him around and invite him to stay at my camp..
to bad you cant grab him as a companion

You can get him to join?! he's an absolute unit! I knew about getting him to destroy himself but i wanted to try actually fighting him

I noticed something broke during the fight. It's definitely a cheese tactic.

So, I was caught near that chest - the displacer beast spotted me. I took that one down and all of Yurgir's rookies, including himself - stayed up - near that throne doing absolutely nothing. Their A.I. broke. So I blasted them with ranged attacks until all of them were dead.

Then I took care of Yurgir - detect invisible will help I think (but I forgot to put that in a spellslot at the time >_<). So, I clumsily got him down to about 10% of health and had to go invisible and retreat. After recuperating, I found Yurgir was standing all alone, by himself, no longer invisible. Took him out with a backstab.

I'll tell you how I killed him in one hit on honor mode.

Surprise him (he has alert but if you also have alert you can still go first)

Then throw a bottle of water at him and have a tempest cleric cast maximized chain lightning from a scroll. The save DC is intelligence based so have them wear the headband of intellect for free 18 int.

The max damage will be something insane like 160 points and just instantly kill him as well as a few of his merrigons too.

Wel what you DON´T want happening is him joining Raphael. All rest are valid choices.

Yurgir is super easy. Haste Karlach and Laezal. Have Karlach rage and just wail on him. Misty step helps a lot but I've done this fight without it.

Video guide

For context, you can jump in on the side and don't have to be below him for the ambush.

This skips the cutscene ofc, but does not really matter if you gonna fight him any way

Yes as long as you kill the Merrigons fast he is not impressive.
