Quasit Shovel - can't get him permanently.
So, I'm a Wizard, trying solo run on tactician. Thought it would be good to get Shovel asap, yet I have an issue. I exhausted all the dialogue and he "joined" me, but i didn't get the spell to summon him. What's the issue? I remember this being a pain in my ass upon release and still it is bugged or am I missing something?

I think if you're a wizard, you have to learn the scroll, rather than getting shovel through dialogue, but I could be wrong ^^"

Do Wizards need to learn the scroll? I read somewhere that Shovel/whatever will not teach Wizards since there's a scroll that can be learned, but the Internet being the Internet, that might not be true.

I've always had the Wizards learn the scroll rather than use the scroll and use the spell slot instead.

You have to cast the spell and get Shovel. Then you have to talk to her and not rename her. Get her to talk about the book and the mirror.

Then you need to talk the mirror into letting you past.

Then, in the lab room, you have to talk to Shovel again. If she says you are a "spell ♥♥♥♥♥" then you have her. Otherwise she'll just say that she told you true, Beefy, and that means you didn't get her.

Wizards can get her. Warlocks can get her. Dragon sorcerers can get her. Wild and storm sorcerers can not get her, because she is afraid of their magic.

OR a wizard can just scribe the spell, but in that case you have to keep it prepared rather than getting it as a free common action.

Is the Quasit in your most left partition (I forgot what its called, but your item bound spells also show up there). I think it should end up there if you talk Shovel into joining you. I've never tried it myself.

Can other classes also get Shovel? Or is it tied to "traditional" spellcasting classes only (and if she's not scared)?

Yes, i guess i did "wrong" dialogue order. So, since I'm playing as Dark Urge Necromancer i RP-ed and talked with her and agreed that we should do some pillaging and murdering. After that I didn't get "spell ♥♥♥♥♥" line and therefore wasn't able to summon her. Even after visiting laboratory. There was no option just her telling me "There you see, i wasn't lying"...

I tried "good" dialogue now (told her "you will not do such thing"). Dialogue ended. Talked with her again, getting called spell ♥♥♥♥♥ and now I can summon her at my will.

Still i find it retarded that you have to do specific dialogue order for this to happen. Nothing in this "good" dialogue has any sense to why you would be called spellshite opposed to "evil" dialogue.

Nope. Only the spellcasters.

No, that's not it. I always tell her we're going to do some killing, and I get her. (Unless maybe it's something tied to the Dark Urge.)

Ah well, I can see on different forums that different people get different results, no matter what order you do it in. It's just bugged tbh. Not properly programmed.

warlock, wizard, sorc for sure can get shovel.
if he gets stuck in a conversation loop and just says "tell you the truth" etc over and over..
-> have a person who can't get him (eg, warrior laz) talk through the loop again.
-> have the person who wants as pet talk again, and it should trigger teaching you the spell.
-> wizard can just learn the scroll. I don't know if they have to do it that way or can conversation gain it. I would think conversation would work since you .. used the scroll to talk ...

I have never failed to get as a pet after doing the above. Its buggy -- the script/trigger gets stuck, but its fixable.
