From Nexus:
https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/articles/129
I've already deleted the entire PlayerProfiles folder, but the mods I subscribed to within the game always come back, the ones from the nexus I removed without any problems.
I have already reinstalled the game, deleted the data, PlayerProfiles and deleted/canceled all mods individually
A lot of other forums from games that support mod.io report similar issues. Might be worth checking on the website itself for solutions.
The game try to keep your save files compatible and if you use mod in one save file, the game will reupload that mod, untill you delete the save file and the game finds out that no need to reupload anything because no save files needs any mods!
If you don't want to do that, you probably have to go to the mod.io site[mod.io] and login, click my subscriptions in the filters to the left, and unsubscribe there as well. Can't guarantee it will help though.
Cross-platform modding support.
Why do that when the intent is to make it so the official modding pipeline works across all platforms, especially with upcoming crossplatform play?
