Under normal circumstances I'd agree. And I already have been making a list of the ones I know are broken because of that to delete which is honestly fine since those ones are mods that I either no longer need or intend to use anymore. However, this still happens to the mods I have installed from the Nexus that have been updated for the recent patch. Those are the ones that are making me scratch my head at this as there shouldn't be a reason for those ones to not load into the game.
Mind you, most of the mods I'd had were failed attempts to get dice skins to actually work (which I couldn't make happen just using the steps and advice on Vortex). The mods that weren't, are QoL mods, and only one is what I'd call "necessary":
It's a camera tweak that lets you look up.
The built-in camera is so confining, constraining... I dislike it immensely.
But since Larian added the mod manager, none of my Vortex mods will work, and sometimes the game itself won't work. **grump**
How did you manage to create a chaos which leads to such a problem to begin with?
Repeat until you find the culprit(s).
Took me a few hours after patch 7, but I ended up findling like 3-5 mods that caused it.
Note: any mods which show up in BG3MM with a small parchment icon needs to be updated or manually edited to remove mod fixer (will show "contains mod fixer" when you hover the mouse over it).
Didn't have to uninstall anything from the new Mod Manager.
It's working now. Giant PITA, but it's working now.
I tried using the automatic update function built into Vortex and it really didn't help.
The only thing that got the job done was deleting the mods and their archive files, then reinstalling.
It happens; I've run across a few "install in this order or it won't work" mods before.
