The option ruins character creation from start to finish in 5e. I wouldn't want to play at a table that uses that method. I'm not sure if that even matters as multiplayer is probably a second thought in this game. So go for it, but mark characters for MP and achievements if there is any.
If the number is limited on how many times you can roll you have just as much chance at getting ♥♥♥♥ stats as you do uber stats. I personally hate rolling because, well, I have ♥♥♥♥ luck but I do enjoy the 'chance' of rolling the dice. But that doesn't stop someone from just starting character creation over i suppose until they get what they want. Your'e going to end up with powerful character anyways mainly because there is no attunement to magical items like most tabletop 5e and there is already nasty combos in EA. I believe attunement max for 5e rolls is only 3 at a time. Imagine that ruleset in this game. I cant imagine what it will be like on full release when we get access to all items. The lightning charge sorcerer i built just steam rolled.

In what way could anyone limit you to how many times you can roll? I think you are arguing that, but then you contradict yourself by saying someone could restart character creation. It just becomes this circle of none sense at that point.
You are arguing that even having good stats is alright because all pcs are going to be over powered because there is no attunement in the game. There is something, It is the paperdoll system. Not to mention not everything needed to be attuned to begin with so maybe there is going to be attunement, but it hasn't been put into the game yet. Either way, it has nothing to do with rolling stats. The magic items are a constant and have nothing to do with this discussion or what I said so don't strawman me plz.
The main difference is going to be that a point buy system will have to choose a feat or attributes. Someone who rolled there characters is essentially getting free feats. This is what is going to be overpowered.
And yet here you are again. To be fair your retort to whom ever is wrong. The faq does not state that they will put it in the game.
Can I roll for my stats?
In Early Access we're using Point Buy as the main way to determine stats in Character Creation, but we've heard that there are big fans of rolling stats out there.
Not to mention there are so many different methods to rolling a character. Just to be fair if it's legit just set mine all to 20 and call me Chad.
The devs have confirmed that rolling will be added by launch.
be the first one to make a survay of 10000 players cos apparently you need proof hehe to know that people like Rolling for stats..In DND lol
That's cool to hear. Which developer said this and what method are they using?
Walgrave said it.
lol obviously
You must have a reading comprehension problem, go back and read my entire first post. They limit character slots and lock a slot for a period of time once the 3 roll sets have been completed. They either use that character or try with another character slot which could then be locked as well.. It's not rocket science, but it is science and statistics.
