No but my brain farted, quite literally, must be the tadpole. (Brewmaster Monk variant likely?!)
I noticed the serious conversation and critique of modern delivery services yet started my own cruel humor spin on it, sorry I barged in to disrupt your intellectual conversation I'm more of a wisdom guy myself.
I bet the slippers have so much swagger they offer at least a +3 to charisma and advantage on all charisma saving throws!! Very useful for us sorcerers!
Slippers> BG3
THEY EVEN TOLD YOU NOT TO BUY IT IF YOU DON'T WANNA DEAL WITH UNFINISHED SLIPPERS!
Honestly it sounds like this is your first pair of nighttime comfort wear or that these slippers just aren't for you.
This ^, is a perfect example of how dangerous it is with disinformation, and, how easily it spreads.
You created your own thread complaining about the game not being ready yet. That's fine, vent all you want.
What's not fine is that in your thread you looked after conformation bias and found ONE person that claimed Larian ran out of money mid development and that's why they released the EA. He later in that thread explained he had no basis for that assumption more than that he, without doing any research whatsoever, saw it as the only logical conclusion. A conclusion that was flawed from start since he based it on nothing.
So, instead of spreading false information like that, let's have a look on some facts and draw better conclusions from that.
1. With the huge success of DoS 1&2 plus being backed by HASBRO(!) to develop BG3, money is simply not an issue for Larian.
2. From start, Larian has asked customers repeatedly to NOT BUY THE GAME BEFORE FULL RELEASE, unless they will be satisfied with bugs, only ACT 1 and level cap 4 and have a interest in providing feedback. They have chosen to charge full price during the EA to emphasize this.
3. They have stated why they do their EA this way and it follows the same concept as previous games from their studio.
4. Until May this year they never gave us an estimated release time. Just that the EA would be up for ATLEAST (that means minimum) 1 year. And have besides that only made vague guesses on when it possibly could be ready. Guesswork, nothing more!
5. Since the release of the EA, their head office has been flooded twice. A pandemic struck the world and war hit Ukraine (although how much the last part has affected development is unknown). And for people saying, so what they can just work from home...not having your staff gathered can lead to slower and more disrupted logistics and managing, plus all the personnel that doesn't work directly under Larian like VOA, models, sound technicians etc may have been in quarantine.
6. Sven has admitted that some final design choices made on his part, has made the story building unnecessary difficult. And early in the EA he also admitted that the level cap had to be increased to fit all content he wanted to add to their original idea.
There. 6 points that not only put a hole on your theory that they're out of money but also gives some leisure to why the game is not ready yet.
It's ok to be agitated. It's ok to want the game released already. It's even ok to actually dislike the game and Larians Studios PR management. But do it based on real information.
And that goes for everything in life!
EDIT: Sorry OP for the off topic rant but this is really a pet peeve of mine. Hope you get your slippers soon!
Well said.
