Can't find letter to kagha in swamp
I'm at the decrepit sanctuary. looked all around the big tree in the middle. Went to 84/211 and still couldn't find it.
1. What perception to you need to find it. The highest I have is +3 Shadowheart
2. Do I need to find it to continue the quest.
3. Is there a way to temporarily increase perception.
4. How do you increase perception

There's a hidden container on the trunk of the tree. The best way to give yourself advantage on Perception is the Enhance Ability spell. You can also throw Bardic Inspiration and Guidance on yourself before the game has you check Perception in that area.

Alternatively, there is actually a locked chest in the druid grove. Same map where you first meet Kagha. It's easy to steal from without getting caught and if you read the note, actually tells you where to find the letter in the swamp. iirc, possibly bypassing the need for Perception at all or reducing the DC.

Move the camera around, the cache may need specific angle to become clickable.

I've been trying for an hour. Moved all over the area. Changed characters. Checked my inventories. Reloaded.
If I don't need to find this letter, please let me know

Sorry I don't understand
are you saying there is a locked chest in druid grove that has the letter in it. I looked around the grove and didn't see any locked chest. Is it inside the stone gate where I met kagha? x/y for that chest

I've already done all that. The letter is not there or I can't see it. I just read you need a dc5 in perception to find it. The highest perception on all my players is +3. WTF. I've been following a walkthrough. This is bad.

Methinks youve overlooked the first part of the quest in Kagha's chest in the druid sanctuary.

I never tested it, but if you use sound o thunder AoE on hidden containers, do they reveal, even if you failed the checks?

Also, maybe easier, just hire a new hireling from withers. Save before he approach the spot and he will roll his check of perception.

Not going to help if he didnt begin properly by collecting the first evidence in kagha's chest.

I opened Kagha's chest in the druid sanctuary.

Afaik it still works, but DC isn’t 5 if he didn’t get first evidences in Kagha’s chest.

Maybe you already picked it up without noticing.

I looked in my inventory. No letter there. Journal says "Investigate Kagha. The rite of thorns is dangerous magic. Why is kagha so determined to do this"

I started over so thanks for all the help

When you open Kagha's chest, you have to read the stuff inside. Just opening the chest is not enough. Just picking up the stuff is not enough. You have to read it.

If you *have* read it, then you should be able to find the note at the tree.
