What's The Best Polearm Build?
Been playing for a while now, and I have yet to figure out a great polearm build that beats other great weapons.

Can be any class or combo of classes, I just want to know what the strongest polearm build is.

strongest polearm build is waiting until patch 7 to see if they fixed polearm master or not

Best currently is gonna be getting 3, maybe 4 attacks per round with it as a 2h weapon. Eg a barbarian in rage at level 5 gets his 2 attacks + bonus main attack in rage, or a fighter's third attack (that comes in very late game). As spears can be thrown, there is the throwing angle too, which also shines as a barbarian, either as a main idea or as a backup ranged idea.

That puts fighter 11 monk 1 with a TB feat in the build pretty nasty:
3 main hand attacks
1 offhand unarmed attack doing far more than PAM would
extra attack here and there from surge

but the barbarian gets most of that sooner, having his 3rd attack at level 5 when raged and enough rage charges to make it pay out. Taking that 1 level of monk at 6th trades a mainhand hit in rage with an offhand kick that is still better than PAM, for fights where rage isn't a good use.

You can always barbarian in the mid levels and trade out to fighter later.

That pam d4 thing is just not worth it to me. Ive tried but it never hits very hard.

I'm thinking pure Champion Fighter for 3x attacks and crit.

PAM is the main feat on my Abjurer6/Eldritch6 knight.

However I modded in two additional feats for this build, The Cleave Feat (once per turn) and Divine Strike Feat (to burn spell slots in combat). It gives me 5 chances per turn to get a crit triggered divine smite. It also gives Arcane Ward damage reduction as well as int and wis proficiency for those nasty spell saves.

I've thought about doing a Pally build, but I'm not sure why it would be better than greatsword, and I typically like sword n' board Pallies anyway.

Without the Cleave Feat i go board and sword. I have another party member that did that and sentinel. We fight side by side when ever possible, although he is a Battle Master.
