As the dark urge, can you avoid.....?
Alfira's death? I was crude to her when she wanted to join. She called me a bastard and ran away. However I now have to hide a body. Didn't even interact with her in the grove (yet).

The gameplay reason is that it is an important part of the story. It shows that Durge doesn't just have violent impulses; they literally cannot control their actions. There would be no narrative stakes for a good Durge if they were just always in full control, and never had to kill anyone. Alfira/Quil are that token required kill.

Yet another reason I will never play Durge.
I am my own. I will not let anyone or anything control me. I'm stuck with the Worm, yes, for now, but my goal is to not use the worm. Incubate it. Wait until I have an opportunity (at the end of the game) to make a difference. Then it will be all worth while, and I will be the Goddess.

F Baal. and F the 3. Those fools think they are gods, until a certain person whom let them borrow that power decides them unworthy.

Bubby isn't helping us for no reason.
He is testing everyone.
Durge, Custom, and Origin Characters.

Cyric is really the only god worth worshipping.

All praise Cyric!

Any tips on saving her in honour mode? Just knock her out before every long rest once I go to the blighted village, perhaps?

I know you can kill the game via task manager to shut it down before it can save, but if I do that, I might as well not be playing in honour mode.

The Alfira/Quill trigger is halfway across the bridge to Blighted Village; before you cross the bridge, Alfira is completely safe, no matter how many times you Long Rest. So, knock Alfira out, cross the bridge, then immediately long rest, and you'll get the Quill cutscene. After Quill is dead, Alfira is permanently safe.

I suggest Long Resting right after the bridge, as some camp scenes have higher priority than Alfira/Quill, such as meeting the Dream Visitor after entering the Goblin Camp, or Wyll attacking Karlach after you recruit her. It's unlikely you'll run into either of those before the Alfira/Quill scene, but if you just Long Rest as soon as you get to the Blighted Village, you won't have to worry about it at all.

Alright, thank you! I knew she appears once you reach the blighted village, but I didn't know where exactly the point is that triggers her wanting to join the party.

I beg to differ, on multiple accounts.

The lore reason is that, even though she left, you hunted her down while "sleepwalking." It's already dark, so Alfira/Quil likely aren't camped far away from your camp.

The funny part is that even if your companions kill you, a bard still winds up dead, but you don't get your reward.

how can I get a cloak if after Alfira came to the camp I killed her myself (without waiting for the script to kill her). After that, the butler said that I did not take the chance and did not give me the cloak.

Never long rest in Act 1 x)

Alfira in Act III talks like she went to the camp that night and the Durge didn't murder her but appeared to want to murder her.

Feels like something was cut that would allow the Durge to avoid killing Alfira at camp without the metagaming workaround.

(If it were me—and it's not—I'd have it with Alfira at camp, choose not to murder her, someone else gets irrevocably murdered instead and it's a companion if any are available but Quill if nobody else is available. Gale, if chosen, would be killed somehow that would put the Orb out of the picture. How? I don't know, yet.)

If you have another companion kill Alfira or Quil in camp before long resting, it doesn't actually count as your kill, and you get a unique cutscene with Sceleratis.

I wouldn't do this though, given you miss out on Deathstalker Mantle. As others have said, just knock out Alfira before resting and kill Quil. She's literally meant to be an inconsequential replacement.

I have not tried it in the new patch, but it used to be possible to kill the DU with a companion, then rest. Then a half of the NPCs thought that Alfira was dead, and the other half that she was alive. I think, I met her later at the Inn, but not sure. The butler had a unique dialogue for that, so it is intentional.

would be such a perfect bard companion and larian kills her off...
