As the dark urge, can you avoid.....?
Alfira's death? I was crude to her when she wanted to join. She called me a bastard and ran away. However I now have to hide a body. Didn't even interact with her in the grove (yet).

if you knock her out before ending the day, a dragonborn bard named quill will take her place. you'll still end up murdering quill, but at least you can interact with alfira later on

As I understood it, there is a way, but it's a bit of a meta play. If you knock her out before the events of the night she will be replaced by another NPC, who Durge will gladly murder instead. Alfira survives, and I think she's available to meet later?

Not sure, I'm still on my first play through and haven't even played as the dark urge yet.

Edit: Oh! Mintytides got there first :)

Yes, it is possible with the right precautions:

https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Alfira
There is (or was) a method to not see her as part of the scene, if she can't be in the scene it will pick another just random dragonborn I do believe. But doing this only avoids seeing it, the game still sees her as dead regardless (to my understanding at least). The devs have made it clear there is No way to avoid this.

Yeah, frequently save between long rests if you plan on resting in the primary camp area (she seems to only appear when camping in primary camp), which is the outdoor camp area with the water nearby. Reload to a save before you long rest and find her in the druid grove. Knock her out with one of your companions (otherwise she dislikes your player character). Then long rest and you'll kill her alternate, a lizard.

the other NPC is actually pretty fun too! If you go about this, ask the character to sing a song ;)

So in the end the conclusion is that you always kill somebody, but I just found it strange that she ran away after rejecting her and still ended up with me killing her.

The lore reason is that, even though she left, you hunted her down while "sleepwalking." It's already dark, so Alfira/Quil likely aren't camped far away from your camp.

The gameplay reason is that it is an important part of the story. It shows that Durge doesn't just have violent impulses; they literally cannot control their actions. There would be no narrative stakes for a good Durge if they were just always in full control, and never had to kill anyone. Alfira/Quil are that token required kill.

She is said to be seen alive later, but to my understanding the code of the game considers her dead from that point. But I have never tried to break the game to confirm it lol

Yet another reason I will never play Durge.
I am my own. I will not let anyone or anything control me. I'm stuck with the Worm, yes, for now, but my goal is to not use the worm. Incubate it. Wait until I have an opportunity (at the end of the game) to make a difference. Then it will be all worth while, and I will be the Goddess.

F Baal. and F the 3. Those fools think they are gods, until a certain person whom let them borrow that power decides them unworthy.

Bubby isn't helping us for no reason.
He is testing everyone.
Durge, Custom, and Origin Characters.

According to the wiki you can still get the robes cuz she is technically alive. But as I have said I didn't test it in my durge plahthru.

Yeah idk :aushrug: The wiki says you can get it if you knock her out. Only way to know is test it.

I just heard that alive or not thru the cheesy method, the game code supposedly considers her dead. But I didn't test it so I can't say first hand myself. Let us know if you test it lol
