Data mismatch (Solved: See the edit)
I uninstalled all previous mods. Verified the integrity of the game files and they all check out. The game runs completely fine (as far as I've tested), but I still get the "Data mismatch" error on the launcher. Pressing "open file list" shows nothing.
While I can simply ignore the error, I'm wondering if anybody has faced a similar issue and managed to figure it out?

Edit: For people with a similar problem, after some fiddling, I figured that when pressing "open file list" doesn't show you a list of files that are added/modified, but going to the %localappdata%\Larian Studios\Launcher\Cache, you should see a steam_4.1.1.5849914_alteredFiles.txt file that contains all the files the launcher detects as data mismatch.

These days, when people make such claims, it is usually that they did not remove mods related items properly. Et tu Burjis with toolkit installed?

These days when people wanna waste time, they come to respond to a post with a non-answer. Et, tu, whatever that name sounds like, making the wrong assumption. I don't have the toolkit. It's also not part of my DLC list.

Then you did not remove all mods. Simple as that. You made false claims.

It's really helpful if you looked up the meaning of "false claim".
Steam doesn't find any data mismatch and the launcher does without saying which files.
And the Mods folder is empty under %localappdata%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3
I also don't have the toolkit installed (I've already read the relevant thread), despite the fact that the official toolkit is not a "mod"!
Creating a new game and saving, it doesn't show the save as "modded".

So if you have no answers other than the "duh it's obvious" type, then please don't bother.

If you add or change files to the game files, that is modding.

I see that it has already been answered but I thought the following could be helpful for others seeking a solution in case the one provided above does not help. Larian posted a helpful page:

https://larian.com/support/faqs/the-launcher-has-a-data-mismatch-error_78

Also, the Toolkit may tell you that the editor folder is missing from the data directory. Manually creating an editor folder will fool the Toolkit so it will stop complaining about it, but the Toolkit will not work.

In my case the issue was that I installed the Toolkit first, and then the Baldurs Gate 3 game. It had to be the other way around, then the Toolkit did not need you to point at the Data folder (that should have been a clue that I had done something wrong) and everything seems fine now.

Thank you for the edit, now I see that I have not a single one file installed for the toolkit and reinstall it is not solving it.

Version: 4.1.1.5970269
Platform: steam

-------------------------
Altered/Added files 126060 --> (all of them I guess?)

I think that having the game in an external HD is not compatible with installing the game?

I am going to open a ticket, thanks!

Have you tried verifying the integrity of the installed files in steam? Although if re-installing the game doesn't solve your issue, I don't think verifying the files would help either.

My mismatch was from the toolset being installed.
