We finally get official mod support and what do I see?
Shortash. Minithara. Ashortion. Seriously, is this the limit of creativity these days?

The unofficial mods (which I can't seem to get working anymore no matter what I do or how few of them I try) had incredible creativity. Allowing other classes to learn spells from scrolls, 5e spells that weren't in the base game, custom outfits, custom weapons, the ability to CRAFT adamantine gear by upgrading lesser gear, the ability to upgrade lower rarity items to higher rarity to improve their damage.

Mods that add playable lizardfolk, satyrs, bugbears, aasimar, etc

Mods that add all kinds of subclasses and custom classes and homebrew classes.

But I look through the official mods and I see a TON of mods that...make...NPCs...short.
A ton of mods dedicated to making various NPCs into gnomes, halflings, and dwarves.

Official mods have playable genasi, and some revamps of spells, and a couple hair mods, and a flying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of NPCs changed into gnomes, dwarves, and halflings, with a few name change mods as well, and some dice mods.

What the hell? Where's the interesting stuff? Where are the cool mods? This update didn't just break mods, it killed everything interesting about the available mods.

Not a single person who has uploaded to the official mod manager has an ounce of cleverness and I wish to god I knew how to create mods as well as the people over at Nexus Mods, cause the official mod list is in dire need of expanding with some GOOD mods.

usually, when I see a mod that doesnt fit, or that i dont want to use, or that i dont like, I pass it by for other mods.

That is usually how it works, yeah. Pretty simple. And convenient ^_^

+1 *Agree*
Looking at it through a completely fair lens there is the issue that the official mods lag behind in the amount of time they have had to be created, tested, released and will likely improve with time.
Also to be fair they are operating on a stricter set of parameters in terms of what they can produce I don't recall if there is limitations or an outright inability to add scripts, but either way that is a pretty firm handicap.

Given that the modding tools were just released, it makes sense that mods that require little effort will release before mods that require more work.
Okay but seeing "Shortash" made me laugh lol.
Not enough to download the mod, but let ppl have their fun!

There are various skill levels when it comes to modding, just as with most things in life.

Making NPC's short is the low hanging fruit. Maybe someone just getting into it. Maybe someone that's just lazy.

The first mod I saw was shaved shadowheart, so I guess it could be worse.

Now that sounds pretty simple , but adds value.
I tried to think of a reply, but I came up a little short.

What did you expect? More kissing animation?

My expectations are rock bottom low for this community and the future of the game.

Especially since there is a massive bush-back against wokeness in videogames with releases like Wukong and Space Marine 2. Since Larian is moving on and cannot work on any DnD franchise anymore, this game will age like milk and I have called it before.

I don't think the very limiting toolkit we have will be enough to save the game in the long term.

People been playing DnD on paper for decades. My niece in 7th grade plays it with her friends at lunch.

Some people still play bg1 and 2.

Game can age like any liquid it likes , it's over , it happened, they did it, and it out there.

You can play it or not play it. People can mod it or not mod it, those mods can be good or they can be ♥♥♥♥♥, and they will be both.

DnD might survive, if we stop injecting political propaganda in it already.

BG1-2 are masterpieces because these games were made for DnD enjoyers, not LGBTQ++ antifa radical "left wingers".

Im too tired to go into the detail of explaining why and how BG3 is woke and why BG1-2 are not.....but in short, its all about how things are represented, not diversity itself.

Number of gender in BG1-2 : Two.
And these games is still considered masterpieces today by the majority.

There are also Kuo-toa, Astral Elves, and Genasi. Still, it does seem like mod.io isn't as attractive to the modding community as Nexus or Github.

Number of genders in BG 1&2: as many as you want.

So which other genders are represented in BG 3? I'm curious. I'm also curious why the number of genders is so upsetting. It's a weird detail to get hung up on.

It's like the game isn't "woke" and that complaint is so surface it's painful.
