Patch 7 issues

Had to remove all my mods, still got stuck and could not play. Uninstalled and am reinstalling now...if this does not work, I will loose my mind.

Unfortunately, when I try to load any save, it crashes and goes to the main menu. Even when I try to start a new game, it still throws me...
Please solve the problem. We appreciate you.

Did a clean reinstall on a new hard drive and deleted the AppData Larian folder before doing so. Still get a data mismatch warning on the Launcher but it won't open the file to show me what files are mismatched. Don't think it's an issue on my end.

You are halfway, though. If you did it like you described, you should have started the game while using a new Windows user account.

There are so many things that go wrong. If the steam-cloud, or other cloud-backup service is on it may cause issues. The windows-registry may cause issues if it is full of junk.

I had similar problems, my old game was heavy modded.
- I first tried to just patch it. It froze during start up.
- I removed mod folder in game folder + BG3 mod manager. Still froze.
- I deleted mods in the appdata folder + save games. Froze, but gave a weird error message
- Found a 7 step list of a BG3 clean install. Followed it and it worked.
Only small issue is that I cannot delete an old empty save file folder, it appears as an empty game in the save-game meny, for a nameless campaign.

I appreciate the help but I'm kinda over it now. I'll just play with mods and forget about my honour mode achievement.

That is because when Bethesda introduced their modding platform it ruined and still has ruined some of the bigger third party mods as well as Bethesda did it to make money by making it so you have to pay for some of the mods (Kinda like what Minecraft bedrock edition is doing). As far as I can tell Larian has no intention of making the mods on their modding platform cost money.

I am having the same issue. Have no mods whatsoever. So no modded save files. Yet the loading screen immediately crashes and says there are files that don't match. Feels like old Early Excess days when everytime that upgrade, all the old saves become useless

Same problem. No mods. Completed the fight with the gith paladin and summoners twice. Both times, had exactly the same issue as the OP.

Why did wait until Patch 7 to do this crap. The game has been out over a year, why wait this long....I don't get it.

I'm facing similari-ish issue. I did a clean wipe of all game files (following the guide someone else had posted above).
Game loads fine, but the second I tried to add any of the mods via the newly provided in-game mod manager, it bricks the whole thing - new game refuses to load, and trying to relaunch the game stops it from loading alltogether.

Wiping out stuff from AppData does fix it, so it's not a game-breaking issue. But it's still odd that the game bricks like this from mod the dev themselves added access to.

This game was already released and it's not like we could opt out of the update.

You can use the beta opt-in settings to roll back to Patch 6.

I accidentally updated to patch 7, forgetting to disable auto update. Of course I then had issues with mod compatibly. As the saves were made with mods simply removing the mods would not allow my saves to work as they were made with mods installed (I got error message 302 when trying to load the save). I then rolled back to patch 6 however although the mods are correctly installed through BG3 mod manager the saves will not load, stating they contain mods that no longer exist. And before peoples reaction is to immediately jump down my throat as you did with the op I am not blaming Larian. I was absolutely loving the game however despite that being 50hrs in I can not bring my self to start over again. If I can't fix it I guess I will wait until the modders update their mods to be compatible with the latest patch.
