Patch 7 issues

Had to remove all my mods, still got stuck and could not play. Uninstalled and am reinstalling now...if this does not work, I will loose my mind.

Many people are having major issues again with this game even without mods. Not good enough Larian. I had terrible issues last year with an update along with many others. These huge patches don't work. They should release smaller patches but much more often. This would make it much easier and quicker to respond to the problems. I don't see the point of waiting months for a huge patch which inevitably brings these problems. I bet they still have not fixed the combat.

I did that and it still comes up with the warning on the launcher and lists files that aren't there.

a) that is because it is not sufficient, depending on the mods you used

b) share screenshots to clarify what you mean with warning on the launcher

It's a Data Mismatch warning when I open the Launcher. There's an option to open a list of files and the list contains files that have been removed already.

In that case you might need to do a clean uninstall if you cannot find the modded files anymore.

Have a possible bug - patch 7 installed, no mods, I am by where the Emperor's hideout door, should be a button, I just passed the perception check to find it but no button appears so can't get to his "stash" he offered. Door can't be forced.

DATA MISMATCH ERROR

First of all I have NEVER installed ANY MODS EVER. I completely uninstalled BG3 and checked that the steam directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3 is empty. I then downloaded and installed the newest version. I got
DATA MISMATCH ERROR

I read the support instructions from Larian and I then uninstalled EVERYTHING again including C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Larian Studios, even my old game saves. This Time I downloaded And installed The OLD version using the beta 6 patch release_patch6_hf9

I get the same error and the error file '_alteredFiles.txt'. does not exist.

Any ideas?

Patches nuke mods. You're pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unless every mod you use gets updated. There's no promises that's gonna happen though.

For anyone who has trouble with the game freezing while opening, I think I found the fix: there are TWO mod folders for BG3. One is under Steam in your program files, but the other is in the Larian folder in your user data. I deleted all contents from both these folders and script extender, and my game is now running fine.

Don't forget to go into your game files in %appdata% and delete the modsettings.lsx file in there under player profiles, otherwise you still might get that error. I was getting issues too when I tried to revert to vanilla until I did that.

After every install I checked to see that the Baldurs Gate 3 toolkit listed in my library was NOT installed. BUT installing the Baldurs Gate 3 game secretly installed the toolkit in the background.
Go to Baldurs Gate 3, properties, DLC and make sure that the Baldurs Gate toolkit does NOT have a checkmark.
