Third Party Mods w/ Patch 7
EDIT:
As of right now I got my game to work with the mods! I deleted the BG3 Mod Manager which I had downloaded from the github and the only other Mod I uninstalled was called Improved UI (I think it originated from Nexus). This version of Improved UI was prior to the patch 7 update, I think they added a new version for patch 7 but I do not have it. Right now my game is running and I have my old save loaded as well with the other mods. I use mostly cosmetic mods and don't have an insane number of them, but hopefully this is helpful to someone.

ORIGINAL POST:
I just updated to Patch 7, but I have several third party mods that I would like to continue playing with on my current save file. When I launch my old save with the mods enabled, once I move the camera or start a dialogue the UI gets all glitchy and then eventually the game breaks or takes too long to do anything. But disabling the mods makes it so the old saves are no longer compatible, so you can't load them anyway.

Does anyone know a way to continue a modded save file in P7? The official BG3 native mod manager they added does not have the mods I want sadly. I was hoping to try P7 and really wanted to be able to play with the current mods I have without uninstalling and reinstalling them all, and I don't even know if that would works anyways. I also saw some stuff about fully deleting any inactive mods, was wondering if that has worked with anyone? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Like with pretty much any modded game you'll have to be patient after a big update. Since the game's files changed in a big way old mods won't be working.
The modders are likely gonna update their mods to work with the new system soon enough but there will be some time before they're all compatible again.

good luck. Mine wouldn't even make it to the main menu when it patched. I'm in the middle of redoing everything from the ground up......its not going great

fair enough! i've never played a game with mods before and i know some will just straight up be incompatible with the new patch. was hoping and praying someone who had played the beta would have some holy grail solution xD thanks though! i'll just keep an eye out for all my mod updates

You can set your game to patch 6 beta via the properties menu in steam, it then should work. Wait a week or so for patch 7
You cannot continue your game like it was.

That's not happening.

The mods you are using are all out of sync with the update.

You can wait, and cross your fingers, hoping and praying that every mod creator for the mods you use updates their mods for patch 7. No promises that'll happen or how long it will take.

You can uninstall and start a fresh vanilla game then ONLY add mods that are ready.

You can uninstall and start fresh with vanilla and the internal mod manager (very few mods right now, it's been out less than 1 day). That way future updates also won't break your mods.

Or you can uninstall and give up.

But continuing a modded save right now, is like asking for a toothache because you think it's fun. It's not and you'll figure out why soon enough.

I suspected we would loose all saved games or that old patch 6 saves would be unstable.

I deleted everything before updating. sadly it could be another week before we can even start a new game.
