Modding restrictions?
I’ve read through Larian’s T&Cs on modding but can’t tell what there rules are on what mods you can upload. Like on Nexus it’s mostly free rain with all its nsfw mods but Larian just says “inappropriate” mods can’t be uploaded and that’s very vague so wanted to know if any actually knows the restrictions they’ve put in place.
For anyone confused about the current T&Cs and what can and can't be uploaded here is a link to Larian's official guidelines on mods: https://baldursgate3.game/modding-terms/

oh so they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my mods and modded save files so they can gentrify all the good ones with their ♥♥♥♥ ones? I see

Was just confused as there is an explicit content tag in the mod manager and on their page it mentions no inappropriate mods. And since BG3 already has “sex” scenes and full nudity it would make sense that that is considered inappropriate in the context of the game.

You know that better mods will come out now it’s out of beta plus some modders from 3rd party platforms like Nexus can port them to the in game mod manager making it a lot easier to download and play with them.

not if the moderators for the new mod feature say "no that's not allowed"

That’s only if it goes against there guidelines which I’m certain a lot of mods don’t go against, I’d actually look at the modding T&Cs first before complaining, it’s genuinely hilarious to see some who has 0 idea on how modding works to be complaining about an amazing addition to one of the greatest games of our time. Not many games get native modding support and being upset because your mods aren’t working not even a day after a new patch comes out is peak comedy. I came here wanting a genuine question answered not to have some cry baby wine about their dragonborn shlong mods not working.

Mods in mod.io and the BG3 mods site are actively moderated in order to comply with the restrictions in place. You can forget about funny mods getting there.
That’s why I’m asking if anyone knows the exact restrictions, if you’re not 100% in the know e.g a modder I’m not going to take that as fact. Not saying you’re wrong just I’d like actual confirmation rather than just saying it’s moderated. Like there’s already a mod that gives Karlach pubic hair and that’s fine.

It's likely common sense stuff like no copyrighted material, which means nothing like the Elden Ring armor mods I've seen floating around because they don't want to deal with the legal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Nor would any nude mods of characters that aren't already in the game be a thing, because that's unauthorized infringement upon the image of other IPs.

So what about ports? Ports are ok right? Was going to add Dragon dogma armors into BG3 since those look more realistic and even look like actual DnD armors. Thank the gods for this tool kit if it allows me to import those into my game.

Anything else, or want to put that foot into your mouth some more?
Sorry I didn't know lol, and like I said I didn't say you were wrong just genuinely wanted confirmation on what is/ isn't allowed. Plus that is for Nexus mods and I'm talking about the BG3 native mods and also asking about their T&Cs on what's regulated. And I also kinda want an actual reason other than "No you aren't getting bleh mods" and "You aren't getting any funny mods in there".

Yeah since it's copyrighted content it wouldn't be allowed since that is explicitly stated in their T&Cs. I can link to the page so people can read up on it and see if some mods they want will be made available in the native mod manger. Also third party ones should get better as there is an official modding tool for the game.

Exactly who do you think made the mods that are available right now in mod.io, but have been available in the Nexus for months?
Other modders including you potentially, I never said you weren't a modder I just wanted full confirmation with a reason as to why that is and you still didn't give a reason as to why they wouldn't be allowed. I don't understand why you are getting defensive over a simple question warranting a genuine, explained response.

Those mods will be coming, they already stated you can side load mods like that but no official support if something goes wrong, the other people on this thread trying to be the mod police are hilarious though people can use whatever mods they want on their private game.

Also after reading mod.io's T&Cs I see nothing saying that content such as NSFW mods aren't allowed so it is just a mater of what Larian deem as inappropriate.

The reasons were stated by Larian quite a while ago, and if you want more in-depth, you need to go to the respective T&C of the companies involved.

For example, consoles (Sony/MS) don't allow NSFW mods, Hasbro doesn't allow NSFW mods, copyrighted materials, or deep changes to the game.
Thank you, can you link to that statement made by Larian as I'd like to read up on that. Not because I doubt you just out of curiosity.

Yeah you can use whatever mods you want I am just asking about the official in-game BG3 mod loader.
