No Patch 7 did not break your game. (tired of multiple threads saying the same thing)

No, the patch did not break your modded game. Not any more so than any other patch in the past has.

Larian is not responsible for mods working with their game, or with updates to them. That's on the creators of the mods.

After EVERY patch and update there are mods that don't work and/ or are broken until those mods get updated. Larian doesn't test mods for working or compatibility. Never have, never will. It's on the mods creators to do that.

The patch just released. Like hours ago. As did the mod tools. Give the creators of the mods a freaking chance to update and/or import their mods. or people some time to actually use the mod tools to create mods. Only a few of them were given access during beta.

Larian even did you an extra and made an "unpatched" version of the game available as a patch 6 version "beta" so you can continue to play your game until your mods are updated.

I don't know what this is so confusing and hard for so many this time around.

It did. I just redownload the game for this update, grabbed a couple of mods from their own mod manager and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell. The UI is broken, and nothing that I pick up is added to my inventory. I am not running pre patch 7 mods, I am not running mods from anywhere but the larian mod thingy. It's broken. Plain and simple

game wont even update for me, no mods here. it keeps saying im out of storage and ive got 140gb free on the SSD its installed to.

I went with the beta patch 6, and am re-installing the game, I will see if that fixes this update, though before that I took off all the mods and tried playing my save file and it kicked me out of the loading screen and back to the main menue. The last updates never did this to me. And clearly this is a more indepth patch and not a simple fixing patch. So you are kinddda being a little dishonest.

It broke mine ever since they added that mod manager in game even tho I have my own everything is weird constant little "Not Found" boxes everywhere I can't even make a new tav without a black screen with a random blank text box and checkbox. My mods were completely fine in patch 6 this new patch possible just corrupted my files, and this is from someone who has had to deal with the game not working/ mods messing up my files. I bought it so i didn't have to deal with that ♥♥♥♥ anymore.

yes, patch 7 did in fact break my game, and many many others... smooth brain. After opening it and downloading mods from its own launcher, i closed the game to do something else, and now its impossible to for to open the game again, tried verifying my files, nothing works. only thing to do is try reversing the patch, but from what ive seen, no luck to others who do it.

I had this happen to me with everything you just described, I hope to hell they didnt corrupt my save files. But kinda silver lineing, using the beta patch 6 with a new save file works with all my mods.

I reinstalled the game for the patch, no mods, and nothing in my BG3 documents folder. Steam doesn't show the toolkit, despite it being installed, and there's no mod.io stuff showing up in-game. The UI is bugged and I keep getting blank pop-ups. It's clearly more than just having mods installed, maybe the update doesn't distribute correctly or the toolkit installed wrong. IDK, I'm hoping reinstalling again will fix it.

I've never installed mods on this game. I can no longer load any saves. I've tried several things. It tells me it is not installed properly, or that it is already running, but either way it crashes every single time. I will try to start a new game see if that works.

Edit: btw i understand that these things can happen. I'm not angry or anything. Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone has a solution.

Reboot pc.
Come back if still no good.

The in game mod manager is actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. "No found" everywhere, even without any mods installed. Some up to date mods can't even be activated, you can't even sort them in the correct load order. Just delete that ingame mod manager, its absolutely useless. The unofficial was 100 times better. What were they doing the past months?
