Actual tabletop leaves a lot in the hands of the DM about how disarming traps work, it's a lot vaguer.
You can (in this game anyway) reroll a lockpicking attempt as many times as you have lockpicks, but traps don't work that way in BG3. Never have.
Since early access you could reroll a failed disarm attempt as long as you had kits in your inventory.
Same here.
I do use mods, so I temporary removed them and started a new game , but the issue is still there.
So I'm quite sure it is a bug. Not "terrible" but annoying.
