If you want to keep playing with your mods
If you want to keep playing patch 6 with your mods, here's what you do:

Right click BG3 on your steam library > properties > betas

On the Beta participation list select: Release_patch6_hf9

Wait for it to update and you should be good to go. :slimetabby:

This happened to me too at first. If you're using Vortex, it might not be recognizing all of your mods that are on there, so try using BG3 Mod Manager instead. Make sure to remember to save and load them in the BG3 Mod Manager once you are done. :slimetabby: Hope this helps.

If you are using BG3 Mod Manager, maybe try disabling all of the mods and then re-enabling them. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer. If that still doesn't work, try using Vortex.

No problem! I was actually quite confused about it myself until a nice user on Reddit helped me. So I thought I would post the solution here too in case other people couldn't find it.

For some reason for the first time I'm having major issues thanks to the new patch, I'm cold sweating fearing for my life

I tried this but now my game wont load the main menu. It gets stuck on the initial load at 100%. Anyone else having this issue?

Unfortunately I'm not sure what to do there :( Maybe try restarting your computer? The subreddit r/BaldursGate3 might also have some answers there if you google it and other people are having the same problems.

Ik this might suck but you might have to switch mod managers (recommend vortex) , or try re-downloading the game with the beta patch 6.

I had this issue as well, but you don't have to rollback to a previous version.
First update the script extender through the bg mod manager, and update any mods which have updated for patch 7. Many mods will still work even if they haven't been updated in a while, but its very important to update the script extender. Save and export to game like usual.
Launch game again, it will still crash tho.

After that, delete the file modsettings.lsx which is located at
C:\Users\<you pc username>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public

Works like a charm now.

I had to enter the in game mod manager and enable all the third party mods, which were the mods I installed through the bg mod manager, but its all working now.

You don't have to switch mod managers. At least not for the mods I was using.

I ended up just restarting my pc twice and it randomly started working, mods and all. No idea why lol but I'm happy now :)

i can still play with my mods on patch 7! mods like Vemperen other's head & Ellian Hair works pretty okay so far, i don't use BG3MM anymore since the game already has a official mod manager now

i just simply put the pak.file to the mods folder and then enable the mod on the in-game mod manager, after that just play a new game, also you don't need mod fixer anymore just install ImprovedUI

That also sounds like a pretty good solution, thanks for adding it. Some of my mods just mess with the game a lot more (like new subclasses) and those probably won't be updated to keep up with the new version until a long while and I'm just impatient.

I'm glad it helped. Sometimes computers are just weird like that. Restarting them is like resetting their brain. :slimetabby:
