New Update broke my game

[⛧ 𝔏𝔦-𝔄𝔫𝔫 ⛧]

I don't know about you all, but the new update literally broke my game. Couldn't get into old modded saves, but also couldnt start any new ones (also without mods at all). My mod manager also doesn't load anymore since the update (everything worked just fine this morning!). So that's that for me, I deinstalled everything after trying to fix this for the past hour or so :D

Honestly? I literally deinstalled everything, cause literally nothing worked anymore and I will just reinstall in a few days and see if anything at all works or has been fixed. I tried going back as a fix but that didn't wanna work too, so I was at a loss anyway. ^^

Sounds like your AppData BG3 folder might be the issue. Try moving it somewhere else and running the game again

Holy ♥♥♥♥ this is pure cancer. Larian absolutely botched this so bad. Glad I didn't buy DOS 1 or 2 yet.

I tried everything for the past hour or so, it's too late now, I already deinstalled the game completely, I just didn't have the energy to keep trying to fix it. Everything I did didn't work and everything I tried to do ingame just set me back to the main screen, so yeh, it is what it is ^^

To be fair, it's the first time this happened to me after a patch. Normally everything works like a charm, but I think it was/is the new supported modding that killed my game ^^ I love Larian! - sadly this new update just broke my game somehow tho ^^

Okay. Just as a reminder: reinstalling usually will not address your issue, unless you remove everything - especially when you suspect a mod issue. In doubt, use this to get the game guaranteed to vanilla state back when you do reinstall

I actually did remove absolutely everything ^^ But thank you for the suggestion! Will keep this in mind, when I reinstall and hopefully it'll work! (:

Personally I am baffled considering how many people have issues with their mods and the latest patch. I mean nothing unexpected in regards of incompatibilities. But I expected most people would have no issues in using their backups whenever such an update arrives.

If you have not done such before, I strongly recommend for the future. It will definitely give you peace of mind knowing that your modded playthrough can never break when you follow the backup rules.

The official mod support is hardly better. Plus there is nothing wrong about using third party mods, as they are safe to use and working reliably.

That is not the problem at all here :D I never had ANY problems, not with my mods, not after updates of the game itself or the mods. It is the first time this happened at all, so just saying it's the mods is hardly true nor accurate ^^

I know someone who had been using the testing branch for Patch 7 also lost their saves.

Everything was fine in my case, such as saved preferences, etc. (I did not do the prior Patch 7 testing) and was not using mods though (which should not be an issue, at least it should not at all remove saves, etc.).
