Can't start a new save with mods
So, I've emptied my mods, reinstalled the game completely and downloaded some mods from the new ingame menu. Thing is, that I can't load a game. It say's something like "Couldn't start a new game. This can be caused by the installed mods. Back to the main Menu - deactivate all external mods and try again!"

Well... I just got the ones that got provided and none of them is marked as third-party.
I could start a game without any of them installed. Since the mod menu is there to make modding easier, I'd love if that would get looked into and fixed. I'm not mad honestly, but it is upsetting because I don't wanna start a game without mods lol

Love Larian tho, great work anyway, fantastic devs <3

Leftover files? Did you do the game update routine?

I did everything yeah, cleaned it up manually, removed all files I had before and even reinstalled the game completely as I mentioned. And as I said, it works if I have nothing activated at all. I've deleted some mods I got from the menu and now it works so I suppose some a broken in there.

That's the age old error that appears when the mod fixer isn't installed. Try to re-install it and try again. I'd have thought Larian had fixed this.

Lol weird, I never had it before but thanks - guess there's still some work to be done until its really polished

Did you properly uninstall the game before reinstalling it? Most players overlook files, that is why I am asking. It happens so common that issues are caused because of leftover files I even made guides for people

There is also a chance that there is some mod incompatibility. So you may try loading one mod or another as standalone and see if they work. Just because the game supports an ingame mod manager, it does not prevent from mod issues to happen due to different versions e.g.

Word is going around that some mods aren't properly updated, be it on Nexus, mod.io, or on the BG3 mods site, This is on top of other issues, like UI mods overwriting each other.

I'm waiting a while before I update my game (GOG).

Very wise.
I am also not surprised about mods not being updated. The update is too fresh and unless the mod creators had early access, it is too much to ask to have the mods ready at release unless they are paid for.

Yeah thats what I figured since it's working with some, then not working when I add others to the bunch. Probably will take some time until everything is gonna work fine together
