They did not give us a solid day.
(Thanks to replies clarifying no official news on which day.)
People always use this excuse, but it makes no sense. If they have already committed to releasing it "this week", but are not sure on an exact date....just schedule it for 9/7. At least then people have a hard date and quit asking for more information and the company hasn't committed to anything more than their previous statement.
I would imagine however that they wouldn't want their employees working on a weekend to roll out an patch/expansion, so it would make sense to announce 9/5 or revise their statement of it coming out this week.
Imagine the excitement and goodwill if they provided a date of 9/7 and then released it before then.
