Anyone got a second to help with a mod question?
I am trying to use mods , never have before in this game. In others i have had no issues with either because they had a working mod launcher or it was in game thru steam or the game itself you simply downloaded them and they worked as long as you had the right version.
I cant seem to get my mods to work. I tried mainly through vortex since it says it works and its easy with other games. I have tried it with the mod launcher too. When i launch the game it says mods are detected but when i go to play the game the changes i should be seeing when i run it dont seem to be taking effect.
thoughts? and yes i made sure the versions were right and updated recently and so on.

I'd wait for official mod support which is supposed to be sometime this week in patch 7.

I use vortex, as it keeps things upto date rather than manual, script extender as some of the mods require it, and you have to enable it by creating a .json file and putting in a few lines of code to make it true, its easy to do, there is guides on nexus if you read it all, nexus to download everything, all working without issue. you might need some additional things like windows .net framework 8+ and bits for other mods... but once you have the dependency's everything is fine.

I would wait until the official mod tool releases, but also make sure that you have the improved UI mod AND the mod fixer mod. Both of these will be broken when the new patch releases but their authors will fix them as soon as possible. You will be able to use mods outside of the official mod tool but only if they have been updated to the most recent patch.

Mods have been updated ever since they were made in EA, and what you're getting on mod.io has already been available on the Nexus since forever.

"OfFiCiaL" or not, mods will break with patches, end.

I swear Steam people's obsession with "OfFiCiAl MoDs", "workshop", and whatever, borders on psychotic.

Vortex runs like ♥♥♥♥, I can understand why people want workshop over that. Additionally, it's much easier to "subscribe" to a mod in the workshop, and the mods are updated automatically.

Yeah, the official mod tools are exciting because they'll make a limited amount of modding available to a wider audience. Even if it's just custom subclasses, items, and appearance editing it'll be cool.

An official mod manager and browser? Eh, on PC I don't care but it'll be nice when it launches on console. Mods on PC have already been solved, and I'll likely stick to the unofficial manager just because I'll likely want not officially supported mods as well.

Official mods mean a couple of cool things, but until the patch hits consoles it's pretty much just 'easier to create certain mods'.

Don't know where you're getting the idea of obsession or psychosis. People are calling them official because that is what they are referred to by Larian. And obviously it will contain mods already on Nexus but there will be new mods created that won't be available on both platforms as the point of it is to also encourage new modders to create.
