DC 0 to push = fail 5 times in a row; Chat says success without push
I am using Mage Hand to push to initiate a fight. It shows 70% chance to succeed, but fails every time. The chat text says DC 0 and also says that the mage hand has succeed the athletics check to shove; but the creature isn't shoved. The line that shows distance shows a very clear arch, however the push doesn't move.

Is this a bug? or can mage hand maybe not push? Act 1 on first tactician play through and I am trying new things so I maybe I am misusing the mage hand.

What are you trying to push?

I think its a bug. A DC 0 would suggest a 100% success chance but you're being shown a 70% chance. Probably something to do with how the game handles/displays opposing checks. It's very likely the Goblin's Athletics/Acrobatics is beating out the mage hand, especially on tactician where enemies get +2 on rolls iirc

Maybe it's just me, but I end up never taking or using mage hand because it always seems to fail and just costs me an action when casting it.

Never tried to push people in the game.

But in RL D&D Sessions, Mage Hand is very weak, only able to move small objects.
I used it ingame for Items, but never tried it on enemies.

So maybe there is a weight/size limitation. It may succeed, but it doesn't have the power to actually move them.

The original 5e spell says:

"A spectral, floating hand appears at a point you choose within range. The hand lasts for the duration or until you dismiss it as an action. The hand vanishes if it is ever more than 30 feet away from you or if you cast this spell again.
You can use your action to control the hand. You can use the hand to manipulate an object, open an unlocked door or container, stow or retrieve an item from an open container, or pour the contents out of a vial. You can move the hand up to 30 feet each time you use it.The hand can’t attack, activate magic items, or carry more than 10 pounds."

But since this game is kind of only inspired by D&D 5e and way off the real rules, who knows it its different in the game.

I also dm multiple 5e groups; and mage hand is quite weak! No doubt about that lol and it's no problem if the spectral is just as weak in bg3, but then the 70% chance to push would be wrong, which is fine as well; placed my question here for any extra info. I am taking the pushing mage hand off the list of things I can try to do to beat tactician.
