So any info on modding for patch 7?
So is it gonna be linked to nexus or its own separate thing? Will we be able to have mod packs that are easily installed? If I swap to my steam deck will the mods automatically download and load? Can we stay on specific versions so if they release new patches my mods wont get ♥♥♥♥♥♥? Do we know if they're any modding limits, like MCM or trials of tav, basically will more unique or existing mods be able to exist. They only went over a couple types of mods like items, classes, QOL mods, UI, race and cosmetic.

They are having their own thing on mod.io and not on nexus. They have said in their modding news post that they will limit their modding to mod.io and those are the only kinds of things you will be able to do with their modding tools.

It will be accessible via Steam and auto-Mod your game.

Well its just there are alot of types of mods. Like spell overhauls, enemy additions, even more specific things like the sex framework mod or trials of tav. Which one of those obviously wouldn't be supported but its just an example.

I would honestly like to see trials of tav be officially supported as a side gamemode or something with some polish and ♥♥♥♥.

The mods are actually accessed through an in game mod menu, not steam. They are installed with 1 button click, and you can easily see which ones you have installed or not. I am not 100% sure what happends when you switch to your steam deck though, as I don't have one myself to test.

Regarding the type of mods, on the beta currently it's mostly name changes, dice sets, unlimited dyes. scrolls, the party extender, etc, haven't seen too many crazy mods like the one that turns the game into a rogue-like game.

Are there already any mods about adding races, classes etc...?

The official modding capacity will be limited as apparently WotC does not want a modded BG3 to become competition to their virtual tabletop.

So you can add new items/races, ect. to BG3, but can't change maps or otherwise insert your own campaign into it, at least with the tools Larian provides.

so does that mean it doesnt work with vortex or the mod launcher anymore now or is this a future thing as i cant seem to get any mods to work with vortex or the mod launcher even though they are ones that are newly updated and are supposed to work?

No, they only recently announced that they are making one.

And don't get your hopes up, this is WotC 3rd? attempt at a virtual tabletop and it always went bust.
Better check out less fancy 3rd party ones like Roll20 untill its actually released.

I just want to add what I haven't seen in this thread:
They are not restricting people to one or the other. You can use both their new official mod tool and still also use nexus mods at the same time. Just use due caution and discernment if you do as the company is not responsible for nexus mods.
