Custom Mod Races
So, I'm really enjoying Custom Companions Lite because unlike its predecessor mod (which seems to have been taken down?) -- it actually works and seems entirely bug free.

I don't want to make my own all-custom parties. But since I do use PLA, I sometimes in my party of six like to use a mix of hirelings and origins etc. What I never could do before now is change the race of the Withers hirelings (I had heard of Appearance Edit Enhanced, but I can't use SE) ... but the bottom line is now with CCL I can make hirelings of any race or subrace, custom mod races included.

So here's some of my favorites. I can now use more than one per playthrough! (Plus, a dragonborn hireling whenever I want one!)

Most of these are by Rosprey. Yes, Rosprey does homebrew his custom races a bit. Makes them a wee bit OP, but that's OK, I LIKE that. The only issue with his is they sometimes have portrait issues, so you need to use Disguise Self if you want something other than a black portrait.

There's now three "angelic" race mods now, and I've tried them all, and I'll rank them in terms of "OPness". Each of these options give you optional wings for your appearance, but often can fly without them (though not necessarily at lvl1).
Deva is pretty straightforward. Not too OP. Gets an "angelic stomp" at lvl5 which is like a radiant damage hellstep. I did ask the author if he would at least consider adding some of the things your Deva summons get, like smites, etc.
(Rosprey's) Aasimar is a bit more powerful than the "Whispers of the Divine" version at Nexus. Anyway, I dig it. Has the four usual subraces, though I typically of course use Protector or Scourge.
The most powerful is the Solar, which is OP as heck, which for me, the perpetually unbalanced, is also fun as heck. LOL. It's Patch 7 compatible, but can only be found at Nexus. It can summon a Hollyphant companion. Very fun.

D & D Expanded has the Yuan Ti race, but I'm using Rosprey's version, which has poison spit, can summon a serpent familiar, has suggestion powers (basically commands), and can overcome poison resistance.

Rosprey has the Genie race, with four subraces corresponding to the various elements. Djinni is very much like the summonable being, but with more stuff it can do. Efreeti is fire based, Dao is earth based, and Marid is water based. As you might suspect, they get racial abilities corresponding to their element. The Dao has a lot of custom powers. As I said, Ros likes to always make things a bit OP, so they get "Genie Wishes" at lvl 12. The way he's done it, no he didn't do his own version of the wish spell, but they get a one-time use of Divine Intervention, as if they were clerics, sorta granting their own wish to themselves.

Two that I wish would update for Patch 7 - it's not that they don't work on patch 7, they do, even though they are only at Nexus - but having not updated, they have no race icon on the selection screen ...

Planetouched, which lets you play as a more negative plane gloam or a more positive plane positar.
Beastfolk, which has four subraces, Nekojin (cats), Umajin (bears), the rabbit folk, and of course my favorite, the Kitsune. I really liked the Kitsune companion in WotR, Nenio.
