Achievements with mods
Hadn't played for a while. Mods are new to me in this game. Enabled a cosmetic one without thinking about the effect it would have on achievements. yes me bad.. moving on.

Can I re-enable them if I turn off the mod?

side complaint. why are devs still doing this? most every game ive played that does this has another mod that re-enables them anyway and it's just a nuisance. plus if I want any achievement I can literally download save files that will give them to me. so it seems really silly that they (devs) all still do this crap. god forbid I wanted some variety to the way my companions would look and now the save is basically a waste of time. smh
I hadnt gotten that far and I can certainly restart but why should I have to? anyway. end rant.

You can just install the Script extender. By default it enables Achievements even with mods active.
Otherwise it's usually a bad idea to disable a mod mid playthrough, and the game will warn you about changed/missing mods.
It might work in your case, but it's hard to tell for sure, you might damage your save either way, so I personally wouldn't take the risk.

yeah i just found and installed this script extender while I was waiting for replies here lol.

so thanks for the suggestion. do I need to do anything else? i didnt download an enabler mod or anything. just the BG3MM and script extender. enable achievements with mods seemed on by default at this point.

edit- this is kind of my point in the complaint section. Why should I need to go through this hassle? /sigh

because either way people will complain.
If they didn't disable them those that are keen on balance and challenge would complain.
So they disable them to at least be able to tell they did it.

Script Extender does it by default. There's no further steps, assuming it is properly installed!

yeah its pretty annoying this is still a thing. like, I understand the concept behind why devs do this. they want to sort of maintain the integrity of the achievement. but like i said at the start, there isnt any anyway. everyone just finds workarounds. so just let us have QoL and/or cosmetics, hell theres even subclasses and soon to be quests and campaigns all tied into modding. so they really ought to re-think the restriction. lots of people are going to want to be able to play with these mods and some of them will even be new players that shouldnt be penalised for such a trivial thing.
I mean, Achievements are meaningless anyway. Just ignore them, they don't get you anything. You don't get any points for them, can't buy anything with having them, and pretty much nobody is impressed by you having them anyway.
Honestly best solution to the problem is completely removing achievements alltogether...all they are is a cheap way to give certain users another dopamin rush without having to spend any real effort in development.
Yet every dev has to add them nowadays, because the whining wouldn't stop if they didn't have them...

You’ll need to download Norbyte Script Extender and start a fresh save.
