Talk Wit Animas is not a Wizzy spell.

Also, it's one of the easiest spells to get for free, it's a ritual, doesn't use concentration, and lasts till long rest, so...

I have like 100 speak with animal potions I will never use. How did you miss them?

A 1 level dip into wizard is already the best 'bang for your buck' option for any build with decent spell slots as is. They had to give it some kind of limiting factor.

There was a time where wizard could learn any scroll from any class, which was kinda stupid...even things like revivify, cure wounds etc...
And even though I don't remember it specifically, there were scrolls for many of the other classes spells.
However, from the TT rules Scrolls for anything but Arcane spells always were a bit iffy. There's a good case to be made, that only Arcane spells, not divine spells should even be possible to be made as spells.
However....that same argument could also be made for potions....So the existence of the speak with animal potion kinda in itself is a bit iffy, and more a method to give all players access to the effect. And that also explains at the same time why there is no scroll for it...
Potions already cover it, and the wizard shouldn't be able to learn it anyway, so there is no real need for that scroll.

It's obvious that scrolls in this game fill the role of scrolls and also wands in D&D rules. I guess they figured they didn't need to make wands if scrolls could do the same thing.

You're confusing Talk with Dead with Talk with Animals. Talk with Dead icon looks near identical with Talk with Animal if you take a glance at it. There has never been a Talk with Animals scroll in the game. I've had this game since Early Access.

Honestly anyone should be able to learn the ritual spells without having to spend a feat to do so. Using them in combat should cost spell slots but not otherwise.

In the lore ritual spells are spells that anyone can cast if they happen to be taught/learn how to do them.

Doing them as a ritual is supposed to take time but not require much other then some material resources.

5e changed them to require actual spell casting or a feat to gain access and also drastically cut down on the variety of them and it sucks.

Curious then that Sorcerers being able to cast ritual spells as rituals only got added to UA something like 2 Years ago.
In the 5th edition 2014 rules only Artificers, Bards, Clerics, Druids and Wizards can cast Ritual Spells. All others have to take the Ritual Caster Feat that requires int or wis of 13+...
So not quite "anyone can learn it". ;)

So, do you want somebody other than your ranger to learn Lightning Arrow, someone other than your cleric learn Destructive Wave, somebody other than your paladin to learn Thunderous or Searing etc. Smite? Do you think your sorceror should be able to learn Dethrone or Artistry of War? Check out Secret Scrolls. Adds scrolls for many spells in the game that are otherwise not there, and in concert with other mods, could make other classes able to learn them.

BUT: don't use the mod.io one, it's busted, the icons are all invisible; get it from Nexus, instead, it's Patch 7 compatible.

Yeah, Larian never made wands, but there's at least two mods to put them back in the game as ranged weapons for wizards, sorcerors, etc. Which, IMHO, along with darts (which are in the game files but unimplemented) make more sensible ranged weapons for wizards than light crossbows.

There are mods to prevent non spellcasters from using scrolls of spells, AND not being able to cast scrolls of spells not on your spell list, AND making it harder to cast spells above your current known spell level, all 5E rules. But I just don't do it, I don't need a mod to restrict me of doing something I don't do.
