What do you mean? He does not have to ascend.

After the destruction of the Absolute and the larvae, Astarion will no longer be able to be in sunlight, but if he is ascended, he can safely be outside during the day, as everyone knows. But after that very ascension, his character changes, which is not to everyone's liking. So I'm wondering if there are other ways to protect Astarion from sunlight.

Нельзя, он только в вознесенной версии защищен от Солнца, в версиях с и без прохождения его квеста он так и будет сгорать

Yep. Pretty much that. It is not that he dies or anything like that. He just gets sunburned.

Though I can relate wanting to bless a companion like that. Though it is not possible.

He can take damage from the sun. But he will not really die. He will tell you about it when you finished the game.

Есть 3 пути (даже я бы сказал 4), это пройти его квест соответственно он становится либо вознесенным, либо остается отродьем; если не проходить квест, то соответственно Касадор так и будет за ним охотиться; ну и можно просто убить его. Только в вознесенной форме его не жарит Солнце (да и ему в принципе неважно (если пройти его квест без вознесения))

Его можно спасти от участи смерти на солнце, заколоть в первом акте деревянным колом, после катсцены в лагере.

В моём прохождении за Гейла (роман с Астарионом), почему-то Астарион не горел на солнце, когда весь отряд стоял на пирсе после победы над Абсолют, хотя ритуал вознесения не проводился, просто убили Касадора. Из диалога позже всё же выясняется, что теперь он "принадлежит теням", но почему не горел на пирсе - непонятно, при чём как я понимаю это не просто какой-то баг, а специально снятая и озвученная сцена под эту ситуацию.
